Mark J. Shikowitz is a board certified Vice Chairman of Otolaryngology for North Shore Long Island Jewish Health in New Hyde Park, New York.
Dr. Shikowitz is the Vice Chairman of Otolaryngology and Communicative Disorders at North Shore Long Island Jewish Healthcare Systems in New York, part of North Shore LIJ. He is also Director of the Zucker Nasal and Sinus Center. He specializes in treating swallowing disorders, sleep apnea, and a variety of other ear, nose, and throat problems from child to adult. He is also known for his innovative approach to rhinoplasty, with a “less is more” approach to aesthetic surgery. Dr. Shikowitz is also a Professor of Otolaryngology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
In 1981, Dr. Shikowitz earned his medical degree from the University of Dominica. He then went on to complete a General Surgery internship at Maimonides Medical Center, and an otolaryngology residency completed at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park. Board certified in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, he has been published in Laryngoscope. He has also spoken in many countries, including Australia, England, Germany, Italy, China, Prague and Scotland.
