Dr. Mark Makela was born and raised in Northern Michigan, graduating from the University of Michigan with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree in 1988. He believes in staying on the cutting edge of technology, and has continued his education with extensive training in all areas of dentistry, including extensive advanced training in Esthetic Dentistry, Implants, and is a certified Invisalign provider. He is also an active member of the Michigan Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Known in the area as “The Comprehensive Dental Expert”, Dr. Makela has extensive training treating complex reconstructive cases. His professional philosophy is to provide the highest quality care in a relaxed and pain-free environment. In his spare time he helps with the Petoskey Ski Team, Hunts, and Fishes and generally loves the outdoors. Dr. Makela is married and has 3 children.
