** Get a lawyer or plead guilty and pay your fine! The judge doesn't care what you say and doesn't dismiss your citation if the officer isn't there! Had I not been there for my court date, there would have been a warrant issued for my arrest. Nothing happens to the officer if they aren't there and they just put your court date off for another day. ** The Prosecutor will walk up to the judge and talk about your case without you being able to hear what they are saying also! This place is crooked and trying to get all the money they can!
It’s 2:40pm they scheduled me for 9:00am this is crazy!!! They really need more than one court room ‍ Update: It’s almost 5pm this is very unprofessional Marshall county needs to do better this is
This is the most incompetent and unorganized county I have ever come in contact with. I received a citation October 2021. I called the office and inquired of the price and asked what were the chances I could get driving school "DDS" or the ticket dismissed. The clerk advised I would have to come to court. The date on the citation was November 2021. I took off work and went to the location on the citation. I was told there was no court today. At this point, I'm confused. The clerk tells me, the date on the citation is the date to pay the citation by or to set a court date to see the judge. I told her, I called and asked about that and the clerk never said if you want to appeal the citation, let me set you a court date. All she said was I needed to come to court, so I went by the date on the citation. In TN, the date on the citation is the date you go before the judge. Anyway, I took off work again and came back May of 2022. The judge says you can pay the fine or receive DDS. If you want to see the judge to fight the case for possible dismissal, YOU HAVE TO SET ANOTHER COURT DATE!! Are you kidding me? I'm not taking off work again, so I accepted DDS. I had to pay the entire citation, plus court costs. I go online to register for DDS and it wants $50. I called the clerk and she advised that is standard. I told her you are speaking to me as if I should know that, when in fact, I have never taken DDS. They should set that expectation with people. With prices the way they are, everyone cannot afford to pay all these fees. Where is the code to help people out? It is sad people will not even attempt to do their jobs properly but would expect it from others.
Would’ve gave 0 stars. It’s all about nepotism. I’ve been waiting for justice for 2 years, they give me run around. If you find yourself here, give it God because they don’t care.
I had 3 traffic tickets that’s all. Court starts at 9. Judge shows up at 9:30 - 10 am. As court proceedings continue time passes and before I knew it it was almost 2 o clock. I never spoke never heard my name never moved from my seat until my name was called. There was people just leaving because they know someone in court. It was unprofessional, unorganized, they were rude and if someone spoke back they caught an attitude. I was told that my name was called and was not called. I never stopped paying attention. Then proceed to tell me that I have to NOW WAIT UNTIL SHE STARTS BACK OVER AGAIN!!!!!???? 5 HOURS I SAT IN COURT WAITING TO BE CALLED ON FOR A TRAFFIC TICKET AFTER YOU CLEAR AN ENTIRE ROOM OF PEOPLE AND I GOT TO WAIT AGAIN? I’m a very patient person but when I’ve been patient and complying to the rules and get told this wouldn’t you be mad? Makes no sense how every court room other than Holly springs are more organized more professional and have a better system. Byhalia has a way better court and is smaller than holly springs. What’s up with that
These are the most incompetent people I have ever called in my life. I assume they have their jobs because of who they know and not what they now. Or it could be because the state doesn't make as much money as people think. Either way the reviews are true believe them even simple questions are a no brainer . Ill pray for the lady that answers the phone she sounds like the dumbest of them all .
I just called the Holly Springs, MS Civil Court Clerk to ask questions about a civil summons I receved 4 days before court is suppose to take place she automatically answered the phone with a angry pitch and as I asked her questions about the process and MS laws she became much ruder while raising her voice. It's sad when people have these state position and can't be kind to the public for which they serve.
Payed a citation online. Now its going on 4 weeks and I'm still waiting on Marshall County to process it so I can get a cleared form. Marshall County is in a world of their own. SMH!
Better have EXACT cash. They told me to go break my $20 at the gas station down the street. What a joke. I'll make sure to avoid Marshall County at all costs forever.
Went to court and never got my name called or anything. Seemed disorganized as well.
