The Marshall Fire Department is a municipal emergency response organization providing fire, EMS, and rescue services for Marshall, Texas.
The City of Marshall Fire Department is a municipal and civil service emergency response organization which responds to fire, EMS, and rescue incidents within the city limits of Marshall, Texas and throughout Harrison County.
Comprised of 50 personnel, all of whom are dual certified as firefighters through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and as EMT’s or Paramedics through the Texas Department of State Health Services, the department delivers emergency response through three strategically placed fire stations throughout the city. Each station is equipped with fire apparatus, MICU/ACLS ambulances, and a compliment of trained emergency responders which are ready to serve at a moment’s notice.
While properly designated as the Marshall Fire Department, the primary request for service that we receive on a daily basis is for emergency medical care. We are on track to respond to approximately 4000 emergency medical service calls and approximately 1400 fire, fire related, rescue, or public assistance service calls by the end of 2014.
The Marshall Fire Department is organized into three shifts, or Battalions: A-Shift, B-Shift, and C-Shift. Each Shift is led by a Battalion Chief who oversees all emergency and non-emergency operations through delegated assignments and responsibilities of four station officers, as well as ten fire fighter/paramedics. Administratively, we are led by Fire Chief Reggie Cooper who is a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program delivered by the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland; an Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal who oversees the fire prevention program through educational programs, code enforcement, and fire investigation; an EMS Chief who directs our fleet of ambulances and EMS operations; and a Training Chief who is involved in recruiting new personnel and making training opportunities available to all members of the fire department in a variety of fire service disciplines.
