We strolled from town to this picturesque lighthouse. It was a healthy walk past some cute houses and gardens. The lighthouse is adorable. The views, splendid. Such a pretty spot ! Savor the views and soak in the serenity! Week days are best bets for a visit to avoid the crowds.
One of our favorite places to visit in the area. As the light changes throughout the day different aspects are highlighted which, for us anyway, make each visit new and enjoyable. There is parking for a few vehicles right at the museum in the former light keepers house but most parking is a short walk away.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
First time going there and I must say I was not disappointed! Absolutely breathtaking views, perfect for taking your friend's and family, don't forget your hat, water and sunglasses as there isn't much in terms of area's to shelter from the hot sun.
We stopped here as a recommendation from a local. It was more beautiful than we expected and we had no clue that a scene from Forrest Gump was filmed there. The scenery and the sound of the crashing waves made it beyond gorgeous. It was a must see for movie buffs and lighthouse lovers!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
It was a short walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse. Was fun to see the lighthouse from Forrest Gump. One guy even had me hold his phone and record him recreating the scene. The rocks are good to climb around on and you can get right down to the ocean. There are a few picnic tables around the area.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Very nice and well maintained light house. The ladies that are there today very helpful and polite. Loved the museum! Such great history. Thank you for the great views!
Very cool piece of Maine history. Also cool that a snippet of Forest Gump was filmed here. The staff were very friendly and informative. Highly recommend a stop here if touring the Maine coast.
The museum wasn't open since it's winter but the views are amazing. I'm sure the museum has a lot of good stuff in it. I'll be stopping by when it's open to explore and learn more about it. There's also some very cool rocks there.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
