Marshbank Park

About

Marshbank Park features walking trails, a kayak/canoe launch, sledding hill, volleyball courts, baseball fields, play structures, a fishing pier and more.

Description

Marshbank Park was deeded to the Township in 1987 from the Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority. The park saw extensive renovations in 2010 with funding from a MDNR Trust Fund grant and Township capital improvement bonds. It is home to many special events throughout the year including the summer concert series, family camp out night, trick or treat trail and children's concerts.

The renovation of the park included the construction of three buildings:
The Marshbank Lodge, a year-round restroom/shelter building
The Overlook, a seasonal restroom building with an attached screen porch overlooking Cass Lake
The park system's central maintenance facility

Site work included a new entrance, roadways, sidewalks, a paved walking path, two new playground areas with rubber surfacing, landscape plantings and irrigation. Also included was a new field area for baseball, soccer and special events. A new hill was contoured for winter sledding and summer concert seating. An elevated boardwalk along Cass Lake was added with a floating fishing pier and a canoe/kayak launch platform. The entire park is designed to be universally accessible and barrier free.

Overall, the park includes:
Two universally accessible playgrounds
Two ballfields
A soccer field
Multi-purpose field
Two sand volleyball courts
Three shelters/pavilions
Sledding hill
Picnic areas
Restrooms
Fishing pier
Paved paths
Canoe/kayak launch

Marchbank Park is an absolute gem in Michigan, and it has quickly become my favorite escape to nature. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the park's serene atmosphere and breathtaking beauty. Here's what I love about Marchbank Park: Lush Greenery: The park is a haven of lush greenery and well-maintained trails. It's a paradise for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and joggers like me. Scenic Views: The picturesque views of the surrounding landscape are awe-inspiring. I can spend hours simply admiring the beauty of the lake and the surrounding forests. Tranquility: Marchbank Park offers a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The peaceful ambiance allows me to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. Family-Friendly: The park is family-friendly with various picnic areas, playgrounds, and open spaces for children to play and explore. It's a great place for a fun-filled day with the whole family. Clean and Well-Maintained: The park's cleanliness and well-maintained facilities are commendable. The staff takes great care of the park, ensuring a pleasant experience for everyone. Wildlife Sightings: I've been lucky to spot various wildlife, including birds and deer, during my visits. It adds to the park's charm and natural allure. In conclusion, Marchbank Park is a true treasure in Michigan. Whether you're seeking tranquility, outdoor adventures, or quality time with loved ones, this park has it all. I can't recommend it enough to fellow nature enthusiasts and anyone looking for a serene oasis in the heart of Michigan.
Great park to go to but need some maintenance in the play area and treatment of the park for mosquitoes. Mosquito bad after 4pm. Other than that great place to take the kiddos. My grandson had a ball. Playground: Someone dug into the turf and it needs attention so the bars don't trip and hurt themselves. They do have one for toddlers and older kids.
Nice place. One trail is short. But have a nice walk on the dock on the water. clean restrooms. WELL TAKEN CARE OF PLACE. and has a few things kids can do. There are more trails but I went in by the volleyball court
Amazingly Beautiful, the kids totally enjoyed themselves!! Playground: The playground and restrooms are extremely clean. 10 out of 10 Family Park
I gave it this rating because of the fishing area. There is a lot of stuff for kids, picnics, exercises and sports. The water is deep at the floating docks. No seaweed that plagues other places. And the dock looks brand new. Parking is close to the docks. The dock pictures is the small one. There is a huge floating dock to the left of that one. Always love this place. A great place to walk in park/woods, 2 great kids play areas. Floating Docks on Cass Lake to fish, relax launch you kayak
Fishing pier *is* good looking and in amazing shape, BUT this is not a place for fishing. Maybe early spring, late fall and at 6am during the summer. But definitely not summer laye mornings through dusk. Cass Lake being a sports lake, boaters and skijets alike run at full speed within 20-30 feet of the floating pier... with waves pushing and kicking full force. They don't care and don't give a rat's about what's around them, unless it's them having fun. There is no "No Wake" zone marked near the pier, and no one Sherrif, where are you? to enforce anything. I came here with my 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 year-olds on Thursday between 3pm and 8pm, to get a break and maybe teach them to fish... Alas, it's not safe for them to sit on the pier bench, let alone fish... If it's this crazy and careless during the week, i can only imagine what it's like during the weekend. WB Parks, take care of this little aspect too, and the Marshbank Park will be inching towards that 5-star.
Extremely beautiful park with shelters that can be rented through the rental office, a pier to fish from, clean bathroom facility, and various playground amenities for the kids. Beautiful, modern park, highly recommend!
Great park with things to do for the whole family. Walking path, little nature trail, nice boardwalk with a few benches to sit by the water, picnic spaces, indoor venues, and different areas for kids to play.
