The fire department was founded on May 2, 1883 as the Pioneer Hose Company and on April 22, 1884 officially became the Marshfield Fire Department.
The Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department (MFRD) is a full-time career fire department consisting of 37 members. We are a full-service department offering services in fire suppression, EMS, technical rescue, specialized rescue, code enforcement, fire prevention and public fire education, and many others.

The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department, in partnership with the community, protects and preserves lives and property through assessment, prevention, education, and response.
