"Since 1980 we have provided a fun and professional dance education for children and adults in the Akron and surrounding areas. We are proud of our program and firmly believe our training prepares our students for a career in the dance industry. Martell School of Dance offers a variety of classes to reach many levels of interest including: Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Fusion, Clogging, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Beginner Ballroom, Acro, Move With Me, Tap Dance for Non-Traditional Populations, Adult Classes, and various exercise classes. We accept students age 2 through adult. We look forward to sharing our passion for dance with you!"

My husband and I recently set up dance lessons through Martell School of Dance for our first dance at our wedding. We were lucky enough to get to work with Tammy Treen who not only taught us basic steps, but pulled together some simple choreography to ensure the dance was a hit. She was easy to get ahold of, flexible and accomodating with exactly what we wanted/needed for our skill level. Our friends and family were very impressed with the end result and I would highly recommend!

My daughters have been dancing at Martell School of Dance for 17 years overall. We were immediately impressed with the different styles of dance and the professionalism of the school & staff! We became part of the Martell family from the start, feeling the dedication and love from Teri, Jennifer, and now Rachel. Although we live about 20-25 minutes from the studio and there are at least five other dance studios within 10 minutes of our home, we have never considered switching studios.

My daughter has been dancing for 7 years but has only been at Martell for 2-1/2 years. She had found a new love and confidence for all different types of dance. She takes Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Clogging, Modern and Lyrical and is always so excited for anything new. The staff and dance family at Martell helped my daughter to be confident enough to audition and be accepted into the dance program at Firestone ASA. She's very happy and loves dance. Everyone at Martell have made us feel very welcome and loved in the short time we've been there. We wouldn't change a thing.

Martell offers a wide variety of genres of dance classes from beginner to advanced levels in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acro and Ballroom just to name a few!!  My daughter has been dancing at Martell for 9 years and I am continually impressed with the office staff and the faculty. Martell teaches the good old fashion art of dance! These are some of the best dance teachers in town!  The dedication, love and support that is given to all students is inspiring!! Martell is under new ownership and a Rachel is doing an amazing job!!  This change has been so seamless they haven’t missed a beat!! Martell is tradition. Martell is home. Martell is Family and I’m so proud to be a part of it!!

What an incredible studio! Both of my daughters love every class they take. The teachers are professionals, creative, knowledgeable, caring, and strict but nurturing. Martell offers instruction in every genre of dance, building not only skilled and beautiful dancers, but also kind and respectful humans.

We have danced at Martell since before my daughter could walk- as we started with the mommy and me. 5 years later and a change ownership and we are STILL just as in love!! This studio truly focuses on building confidence through dance and that is so important for young girls! We travel just to go to this studio, it’s that wonderful. Thank you Martell and all your staff!

My daughters have both danced at martell school of dance for five years. The instruction is amazing and the teachers and staff really care about kids. The opportunities to advance are endless. I highly recommend Martell to anyone thinking about learning dance.

Highly sophisticated dance and performance training studio.  Unique to Akron and surrounding areas, no other studio like it.  Kids and parents are treated like family, students are taught from a young age to understand that they serve a special purpose as a part of the team.  Every student is given individual attention from staff to progress at the pace of their choosing.  Genres of every type are offered to highlight the strengths of the diverse abilities of students.  The staff is professionally trained and they make strategic use of class time.  Music, costumes and choreography is classy, sophisticated and age appropriate.  Children are taught life skills in addition to dance.  Dancers at this studio are trained from the inside out.  When kids travel to dance events outside of the studio, there is a marked and noticeable difference in how well-prepared the kids are.  Martell School of Dance has a deep-rooted rich history and it's legacy will be carried on for decades to come.
