Idle Hour Park is an outstanding recreational anchor and community gathering spot for Phenix City residents and visitors. With amenities like Moon Lake, the brand new playground, fishing, tennis courts, picnic areas with grills, splash pad, ball fields, walking trails, and more. At one time, the park had a zoo, skating rink, bowling alley, and a swimming pool drawing visitors from near and far.

Christmas at Moon Lake is a tradition for many area families. We kick off the season at Moon Lake with a special night of family fun including live music, puppet shows, pony rides, hay rides and much more. The lake is decorated with beautiful lighted displays that transform our lake (Moon Lake) into a magical Christmas Wonderland and stay lit through the holidays. Free to the public.
