Martin's is a must if u are close!!! Hometown classics and can never go wrong. I changed it up on this today and got a gyro minus tomatoes, proud to say I've found yet another favorite
The name Martin meant the world to me....personal...and I can visit here for the most delicious donut scene donuts and delish ice cream... I found your deli just driving around....I think I was brought here on purpose...
Not sure what happened to this location, but it’s straight trash now. No hot food, no sandwiches, barely anything period. There are barely and shelves and the ones that are there are about empty. This has happened multiple times I’ve came in lately. Today I walked in, they had music blasting and a guy kicked back in a chair doing nothing. Not sure where they think they are, but in Bay Village this won’t attract business, that’s just the facts. So I turned around and walked right out empty handed for about the fourth time now. I understand that they are trying to sell this location, but if you just don’t care maybe shut the place down and just let it sit empty until someone buys it. You can’t be making much money this way anyways. I grew up in Bay and my parents still live there. We grew up going to this store and have been customers for many year, 30 plus years. It’s sad to see this place like this now. I would give it zero stars now if I could.
Overpriced and a very unpleasant worker. Not sure if he was the owner but I will not be returning. There was maybe 4 deli sandwiches to pick from that were prewraped. When asked for it heated up, he put no gloves on while handling my sandwich. If not for my lunch break I would have just walked out before paying.
Food is OK but is really overpriced, anyone with a lick of smarts could spice up the menu to make the food almost worth the price. I'm not saying the quality is bad I'm not saying it is good either, it's just the same stuff you'd expect in a nursing home; condiments are available for free, if you don't take too much of them there at least was charge for taking too many. What really bothers me is the owner of this place posts political signs on the property of his business. It's as though he acts like the people on the other end of the spectrum aren't worth considering as customers; an intelligent businessman doesn't do that unless they know they are the best around; Martins is far from being the best around, I find better food at Get Go.
I used to get their pepperoni rolls back in the 90s and boy, what a treat for a kid cruising around on a bike. So much about this staple brings back fond memories; mint chocolate chip ice cream after a soccer practice.. turkey sandwich on the go.. jolt cola for the late hour shenanigans. Thank you for keeping it going all these years. Will definitely return with my kids if I ever make it back for a visit
If you're in the mood for a homemade meal than this is your place! From soups to salads, sandwiches both warm and cold to meatloaf, chicken and warm sides. The food is fantastic and the price is reasonable considering the amount of food you get. Plus a great selection of beer, wine and snacks.
Situated in a neighborhood in an a plain unassuming building, this little shop was our go-to office "splurge" lunch a few times a year. Delicious sandwiches breakfast and deli!, prepared salads, and a great selection of dinner entrees and bakery! They also have a selection of snacks to compliment. Although I never purchased any, their wine selection seems extensive. I'd stop for a lunch sandwich combo during the week or a breakfast sandwich on a Saturday. I considered this place a "little gem in Bay."
As a child, my cousin, grandmother, sister and I would all bike ride over to this store. My grandparents lived along the lake in BV and we would bike over to the HS and then go to Martin's for a drink and something to eat and then bike home. It always was a fun tradition of ours. Going past this place recently made me think of writing a review for it. My grandparents knew the management of Martin's, so we would always go in and have a conversation with them if they were there. There is a lot of historical memorabilia in the deli's eating area, photos of the Cahoon sisters etc. It is definitely worth a visit to the deli if you want a quick bite to eat, and just sit down and relax. The staff was always attentive to any questions or needs. I do have one small downside which is that the bathrooms were outdated as another reviewer had put down, but I don't feel that's enough to oust the rating a few points. My grandparents are/have since passed away, so it may be bittersweet going to the deli again, but if I'm in the area I'll stop by to relive memories.
This was our second trip to Ohio, but we knew that Martin's deli was a definite stop on our agenda. Wonderful, personable staff with so many food options. My chicken teriyaki sandwich was made with freshly roasted chicken and O...M...G...!!! It was SO good!
