This bridge is being built to connect two pieces of property that are separated by a deep ravine. One piece of property is my residence, the other piece is all wooded. The wooded piece of property (about 9+ acres) was very graciously given to me many years ago by a wonderful lady named Mary I. Berry. Mary and I had become friends when I was a young trooper, probably about 1969. The first time I met here was when she called the State Police to report a prowler around her home. I responded, searched the area, and let her know that I saw no prowlers, but I would pay special attention to her property. Many times after that I would stop by to check on her and have a glass of iced tea with her. She later sold a portion of her properties that is now called Berry Patch Subdivision, where I live. She later realized that she still owned some acreage directly behind my property and she decided to give it to me. The new bridge is being named in her honor and will always be known as the Merry I. Berry Bridge. Thank You Mary.
