This past Thursday I hosted a large gathering of 39 people for dinner at The Mason Jar. I have to admit I was a bit concerned with so many people in such a small space but it worked wonderfully. The staff did a superior job of serving and the food was beyond description. Every dish was prepared exquisitely and the flavors were beyond expectation. Not one complaint from the picky eaters in this group. Thank you for a wonderful evening and food that was so delicious. We will return soon. Vegetarian options: Waitstaff has many vegetarian options to offer Parking: Large parking lot in shopping center Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space to move around and manage the area.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Mason Jar. The ambiance was welcoming. Our servers were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the white beans & kale soup and onion soup as well as sharing the fries green tomatoes. The fries that came with our lobster roll sandwiches and crab cake sandwich were so yummy. We shared delicious key lime pie for dessert.
The Mason Jar Cafe is our go to place for good home style cooking. We have never had a bad anything. The service staff is excellent and caring even when the place is packed. The atmosphere is comfortable and homey -- nothing fancy just easy comfort. The staff is always welcoming. If you have been craving that good old fashioned meatloaf, a solid hamburger, a crab burger, salmon, fantastic fries, wonderful brussel sprouts, spoon bread, and even one of the best baked onion soups in Fort Lauderdale than you must come to The Mason Jar Cafe.
Ribs w sweet potato and mac n cheese Meatloaf w Asparagus and brussel sprouts 2 soft drinks. The food was delicious!!! The rib meat was "falling off the bone" good! Meatloaf was fantastic Even took some home in order to enjoy it later Great service Nice staff greeted us warmly
Went to the Mason Jar because someone recommended it to me. Boy were they right. Quaint little place with a nice menu with a bit of everything on it. I had the pork chop with a cherry glaze, sweet potato mash and asparagus. Excellent! Tender and very favorable. My wife enjoyed a nice looking beet salad. We also shared the crab bite appetizer. Very delicious with the spicy sauce. Reasonably priced and excellent wait staff. Can't wait to go again and try another dish. Parking: Lots af parking in front of the establishment Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp in front
The food was fresh, ample, and delicious. Superb service. We were able to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch without being rushed. I had the short rib sandwich. There was plenty of meat and onions on the bread. You didn't need to go searching for the filling. It's very tasty, too. I'm looking forward to trying the onion soup next trip.Food: 5/5
Blessed with thousands of wonderfully diverse restaurants in our tri-county region, and most of them have infused multi-ethnic items on their menus, the Jar Mason Jar Café is probably one the very few restaurants that provides an almost entire menu of good ol’ Americana comfort food. Mind you that all these foods that are now considered Americana were ingrained in our American culture by our forefathers who settled here from other continents when they homesteaded the lands hundreds of years past and we made them our own. The appeal of the Jar [Café] is non-pretentious, projecting a simple décor that is borrowed from a meld of old downtown diners and old European cafés, even the top veneered layer of the laminate-wood floor is scraped off from the back-and-forth pulling of the tables’ wooden chairs and from the most friendly and cheerful lady servers somehow, most servers at the Jar have been there since get-go. That’s a testimonial that they must all be happy to work there . And all that is the ole quaint charm of the Jar. I’ve been going there since they opened back in the early 2000 in the building right behind the location they are in now. Though they have a couple of new daily chef specials, they retained the same original down-home comfort food menu over the years—and that is why I keep going there again and again because, to me, their food seem to taste better and better each time I go. For lunch they offer delicious soups, sandwiches, and my favorite lunch item is a colorful Waldorf-salad salad. Dinner offers a variety of starters like French Onion Soup that laughs at Cordon Blue chefs, fried pickles or fried green tomatoes for appetizers to the sound of a rapid fiddle, the best chicken pot pie ever served in a restaurant, crisp country fried chicken to make you exclaim “Hot damn!”, meatloaf to die for, a double bone-in thick cut pork chop topped with a cherry sauce that will make you hate any other cooked-style pork chops, slow cooked beef short ribs that are so tender and slip right off the bone when you fork into it, and an array of other regalicious I made this word comfort delights. They are open for lunch and dinner - beer and wine only – reservations preferred. About a couple of years ago, they opened a Mason Jar Pub at 1388 E. Oakland Park BL, Ft Laud. The menu and atmosphere have an entirely different vibe, but the food is very good. Personally, I don’t care for the atmosphere because they call it a “pub” but it definitely does not have a beer-pub hangout feel. They are also open for lunch and dinner, beer and wine, and no reservations necessary.
What a hidden gem this place is. Our server Bobbie was outstanding. The atmosphere was so relaxing like you were in your aunts dining room back in the day. The food was incredible. Everything is ala carte so a bit on the moderate to high side but well worth it. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta in a light creamy sauce. It was amazing and I can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch today. The only downside is the kitchen closes at 8pm so come early. Our reservation was for 7:30 so we felt a little bit rushed. Highly recommended.
Always great food, great service, and an intimate dining atmosphere perfect for all sorts of gatherings. We celebrated Father's Day here, and they accommodated our party of 8 with no issue. Reservations are definitely recommended, though, since they fill up quickly.Food: 5/5
Thos was my second visit.. last time for lunch and this time for dinner. I much preferred the lunch but dinner was good. My only complaint was asparagus was massive but the woody ends weren't trimmed off. Oh, and lemonade is just canned not home made and endless from a pitcher.Food: 4/5
