The MACAA is the only organization in Massachusetts dedicated to representing the interests of all private court appointed attorneys.
The Massachusetts Association of Court Appointed Attorneys is a non-profit corporation established in 2003 for the purpose of representing the interests of private court appointed attorneys accepting appointments through CPCS on Beacon Hill. MACAA encompasses all attorneys on all legal panels where counsel are appointed for indigent persons: defendants in the criminal system, juveniles involved in delinquency matters; children before the court on Child Requiring Assistance petitions, parents and children involved in Care and Protection proceedings, mental health proceedings; proceedings before the Sexual Offender Registry Board; and proceedings for the commitment of sexually dangerous persons.
