Matt Wilson is a Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative who helps business owners, individuals and families achieve financial security.

Matt Wilson currently resides in Akron, Ohio. Matt is proud to be born and raised in Canton, Ohio, where he graduated from Canton McKinley Senior High School in June 1998 with honors. Matt enrolled at Bowling Green State University in August 1998 and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Education with a Sport Management Enterprise major and a Marketing minor in May 2002. That summer, Matt was the recipient of a full graduate assistant-ship in the School of Exercise, Leisure, and Sport at Kent State University and Matt enrolled into the program in August 2002. During this two year assistantship, Matt had a great experience as a teaching and research assistant, learning both in the classroom and in the field, in a variety of different engaging and educating work experiences. At the age of 23, Matt achieved his Master of Arts in Sport Administration from Kent State University in May 2004.
Community service is part of Matt’s purpose to serve others. Matt has been a parishioner of the Newman Center Parish at Kent State University for over thirteen years and he serves his church in a variety of roles. Matt was elected by his peers to serve as the Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Newman Center Parish #15312 in Kent for the past two years after serving as Chancellor for one year, and he also routinely serves the church as a Liturgy Coordinator; Eucharistic Minister; Lector; and Collection Usher. Matt’s other previous roles within the church were as a Parish Council Member, High School Minister, RCIA Sponsor, and Altar Server.
Matt was elected and currently serves as the President of the Executive Board for the HALO Foundation, a non-profit organization with the mission to offer hope to the afflicted through the generosity of service and charity involving inter-generational support from seniors to children. Previously, Matt served for three years of active service on the Executive Board of the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters. Matt’s service to the CAB included roles as both chairperson and as a committee member on the education, scholarship, and charity golf outing committees.
In Matt’s free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his fiancé Julie, their dog Coach and their cat Calvin. Matt also loves spending time with his family and friends, attending sporting events and concerts, traveling, and boating. His favorite sports are football, basketball, and auto racing. Matt is a strong advocate for Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Northeast Ohio, and he is always cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers.
