Dr. Matthew J. Makuta has recently acquired the dental practice of Dr. Joseph A. Donato. Dr. Makuta is a native of the Hazleton area and is delighted to be returning to his hometown to share the knowledge and expertise he has gained in the field of dentistry.
A 2001 honors graduate of the Hazleton Area High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in psychology from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005 and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in 2009. He completed his general practice residency at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA in 2010. Before returning to the Hazleton area, Dr. Makuta practiced general dentistry at Berkshire Dental Associates in Wyomissing, PA, where he specialized in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Makuta is active in the dental community. He is a member of the American Dental Association and provides dental services for the military and children’s clinics across Pennsylvania. In addition to his community service, he strongly believes in the importance of continuing education to better serve his patients.
He has focused his continuing education in the areas of preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. He also collaborates with dental specialists to provide optimal implant solutions. Dr. Makuta enjoys helping patients achieve and maintain long term dental health and a bright smile.
In his spare time, Dr. Makuta enjoys spending time with his wife, Alicia, and their labradoodle, Pippa. He also enjoys watching Philadelphia sport teams and being physically active outdoors.
