Matthews Museum of Marine Heritage

We had a very nice time visiting the museum and the volunteers who take care of the facility are really nice folks It hard for me to say what was best,so many interesting things to take in,we like the carriages and I enjoyed the topic displays,the equipment they have is Smithsonian grade pieces. The woman who guided us thru had a great knowledge of not only what the heck what the heck those beautiful exhibits are,but also who donated and the story behind it. The Moxie exhibit is without question the best I have seen in the world,and we have seen alot Major history and located on the Union fair grounds Thank you Mr Matthew's for such a wonderful collection of history,art and the Maine way of life

It was GREAT!!!! The people their were friendly and helpful so much to look at. They also have stuff to purchase and moxie to drink.

I visited the Moxie end of the museum. What an amazing exhibit of Moxie items including the original 2 story wooden Moxie bottle that was used around the Country to introduce Moxie to everyone. Unbelievable!!!

Moxie galore! Fantastic museum yet I was drawn to the Moxie room and couldn't leave. Super friendly staff as well. Just bring cash

Moxie display was very nice. Have to go back to enjoy it all

Be sure to call first to make sure they're actually open. Don't trust the website they don't update it when closed. We drove a half hour to visit, when their website said they're open an August Thursday, early afternoon only to find it closed, no one answering the phone. Total waste of a trip.
