A nice place to study up until you’re disrupted by sounds of construction that doesn’t seem to end on the “quiet floors” or the librarians laughing and shouting at each other on the main floor. That is if you’re lucky enough to find a spot to study if random old men who stare at young women or a couple of homeless people didn’t beat the students. I truly love studying in libraries but each time I get an old man chewing ice staring at me for all 3-4 hours of my study session, I debate whether it’s truly worth it or not.
It's a great library. The book selection is great and the staff are fantastic at helping you find things. This library are also very user friendly. You can navigate and search independently, there's tons of quiet places to study and a fantastic computer and printing service.
This place is much more than a stoage area for books. The students who work there are invaluable to those of us who need help with Moodle technoligy plus advice and assistance writing essays and other assignments. One of the best places at the University: deserves more than 5 stars.
They try, but the library building is just really outdated, sad, and pretty ugly. The best part is the study spaces by the large windows on the ground floor. Maybe as enrollment increases, UM will prioritize a remodel.
It's a great place, but they need to just get rid of the public Internet terminals on the ground floor because it attracts homeless bums who look at porno and physically abuse the machines. Just because this is a public university does not mean that they're obligated to have public terminals. Non-college students can just go to the public library's Web Alley or get a frigging job and buy their own computers. Really, the level of scum on the bottom floor is just appalling.
I am not a spring chicken, I am a non-traditional student that until going back to school; hadn't been in a library since high school. I won't say how long ago that was lol: But the young man that works in there spring 2021 goes above and beyond to help me find my way around, and show me how to access material, etc.. so it's much appreciated.
Honestly one of the only things I enjoy about UM. Very clean and very well facilitated. I like the top floor the best for studying.
The woman who printed my paper was really rude and she printed it wrong 4 times and then tried to charge me for all of them.
The Paw Print at the Mansfield Library is exceptional. They were very fast, inexpensive and the product was fantastic quality!
Nice librarians! You can't technically use the study rooms though without a University membership.
