McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home

My beloved mother passed away suddenly after a brief illness in November of 2022. I am an only child and reside in Michigan with my husband and two children. My father, who lives in Maryland, was suddenly widowed and without any direct help. We had her cremated immediately, per her request, but we were so uncertain as to how we could appropriately show our respects and celebrate the life of such a fun, exciting and spectacular woman. Planning was difficult secondary to our distance; however, my father recalled an exquisite ceremony held at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home for a very close friend who had passed prior to my mother. He insisted that the facility was beautiful and the service appeared to be unmatched, so I took his word for it and we booked a date in May of 2023. “Beautiful” is the understatement of the century. McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home is luxurious and humble at the same time. The structure itself omits a feeling of tranquility and you immediately feel safe when you step through the front doors. Anything you might need for your service is available to you: a large smart TV with a HDMI drive built directly into it to display slide shows/ home videos, alters, podiums for speeches with microphones and sound systems, flower stands, a gorgeous snack/coffee/tea bar with the best possible snacks and a bottled water fridge. The interior is beautifully updated without being “sterile” or “blank,” but maintain a modern and traditional vibe. Elegant and tasteful are the best words to describe it. The chairs for the visitors/audience are padded, detailed, appear to have been very expensive, and best of all COMFORTABLE. But the most valued part of our experience was Pastor John Collins. This gentleman provided the kind of service to us that no other person could. He was so compassionate and understanding. I emailed him some information about my mother prior to the ceremony so he could get to know her in preparation for the memorial. Note that he e-mailed me back within 15 minutes just to assure me that my message was delivered. He took the information that I sent about my mother, myself and my family-- the good, the bad, the beautiful and the embarrassing, and he wrote a delightful and comical speech about my mom which was just so consistent with the person she was while we had her. He chose a poem to reflect the message our family wanted to send about my mother’s character and why she was being celebrated, and that poem was as precise as it could be. I highly recommend this funeral home. I highly recommend working with Pastor Collins. He was our saving grace in this heartbreaking time in our lives. I will never be able to repay him for all that he did for us. On top of the elegance and outstanding service, the cost was tremendously affordable and fair. If I could give him 100 stars, I wouldn’t hesitate.

We held a service for my Aunt last week and John Collins also officiated the service. John was so compassionate and Ashley and the staff are so professional, but also warm and kind I was just so pleased with all of them. At a difficult time they make you feel at ease, cared for and also take great care in what they do for your loved one. I will always use McCully Polyniak/Collins Funeral Home in the future.

Amazing staff from the moment we stepped in to make arrangements to my fathers final resting place, they took care of everything with the most respect to all that was involved in planning, to all our friends and family. They made changes that were requested. Whatever we asked for they made sure it happened. Could not have been more accommodating. Very professional and made everyone feel like my dad was the most important person in the world.

I went with my Mom to make arrangements for my brother's unexpected passing. John was compassionate and understanding. He was not pushy, he even offered a military discount because my Dad was in the Army years ago. He answered every question, while putting my moms mind at ease. He and Bill did everything they could to help make this awful time as peaceful and easy as possible. I could tell, they really care about the families they are helping. It may not be the newest funeral home around, but they make you feel as comfortable as possible and are incredibly compassionate.

The most compassionate people I have ever met. From the first time we met them to prearrange our daughters funeral. They did an excellent job. Our family would highly recommend them.

My family had the unfortunate experience of losing a child and this funeral home handled everything with the utmost care. Our daughter looked like herself and was so beautiful for the viewing. It was the hardest experience of my life but they really did an amazing job. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Just recently lost my fiance 07-06-19. His services took place 07-16-19. As sad and hard that day was for me, I have to say they did a amazing job displaying him. They greeted guest with a warm loving welcome , that you felt alil comfort. Guest book was displayed beautifully, flowers down to the space of the room and set up is beautiful. I'm not sure how to explain it, but you just felt warm and comfort. The hole " Home ", is so clean, neat and tidy. I was a complete mess that day , but I remember seeing the love of my life, crying but he was so beautiful, neat , clean , and peaceful looking. I have recommended this home to others. Been to 3 services there and always thought it was beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommend taking a tour for pre-planning , etc. It's a def 5star rating.

Very nice funeral home. Sadly I have had the opportunity to visit on many occasions. The parking is great. Not only a dedicated lot nit an additional dedicated overflow lot as well. Very friendly, respectful and helpful staff. They anticipate what you need and are there to lend a hand or tissue when needed.

John Collins and the other staff were amazing and professional. The service was perfect and they made everything much easier during this difficult time. Thank you very much for the support.
