We visited McDade Park on Sunday and was thoroughly impressed by the natural beauty and variety of activities available. The park has a large number of trees and offers a variety of options for families to enjoy. We took the outer loop and were delighted by the scenic views of the river. The park also has a popular disc golf course that we saw many groups playing on. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend McDade Park for anyone looking for a peaceful and fun outdoor activity on a Sunday.
Nice location for disc golfing. No major hazards to lose your disc, nice atmosphere and well labeled routes. Make sure you're using U-Disc though otherwise you'll get lost, just due to the long paths. Not just meant for disc golfing however, there are open areas for other sorts of activities as well. Dog-friendliness: The park is open to the public and dog-friendly.
Great disc golf course. The New McDade is where it's at, showcasing signature holes with some newer, longer, harder holes. Ample shade coverage and decent breezes. The course flows pretty smoothly and plays a 3 card in 2 hours, give or take. If you haven't checked it out... you should. Restrooms: Porta-Let on the course between a few tee boxes. Dog-friendliness: Lot's of dogs on and off leash here. I didn't see any issues with any of them. woof! No defined "dog park," that I saw. Picnic area: Picnic tables littered throughout the park.
I really like this park. There is plenty of room for multiple activities. Walking/running paths, a playground, a creek the kids or adults can play in, large fields that can host soccer or impromptu baseball games. Bleachers for onlookers, covered pavilions, frizbee golf, a dog park and bathrooms. Its big enough that many families or games can be going on, but individuals or pairs still have some privacy. I love this place. Playground: Well put together, nothing rusted or broken Restrooms: As clean as a park bathroom can be. Well maintained Dog-friendliness: Yup Picnic area: Clean, plenty of trash cans, multiple locations.
We just discovered this treasure. When we were there it was early evening, and the San Jacinto river had escaped it’s banks. But we walked back aways into the park. It was so peaceful! We could hear birds, and the frogs were singing like crazy. I could hear five distinct species, or frog calls. Take a few quite moments at this park and use note just your eyes, but your ears, sense of touch and sense of smell. Can you smell the water, the flowers, the grass? Can you feel the sun on your face or a breeze on your arms? How many sounds do you hear? Does it sound different if you block one ear, then the other? This is a great experience for kids, as well.
Great place to take the kids to run off their energy at the play area. There is a frisbee golf course, and area to play horse shoes, a couple of soccer fields, and a pathway to walk/run. There is also a pavilion with picnic tables to have a special event and restrooms. It is dog friendly also.
What a great time for this review request to pop up. At the exact moment I'm reporting all of my credit cards being stolen from my unknown to me unlocked car. So if a short, obese, short dark haired woman wearing a full sweatsuit in 102 degree weather comes to chat you up, keep a lookout for her partner.
Good place for walk. I took my daughter here for a picnic. We enjoyed it! She's too old for the playground, but there were lots of kids playing and having fun! I wish the water was deeper for kayaking. Most of the year it's too shallow...
I recently visited Mcdade Park with my family and had a fantastic time! The park is perfect for families, with plenty of open fields for the kids to run around in and a great playground for them to enjoy. We also loved the 2 Goal basketball court, which was a lot of fun for the older kids. One thing we really appreciated was the decent amount of parking available - it made it easy to find a spot and get settled in. The pavilion was also a great feature, with lots of space and tables available for picnics and gatherings. We actually had a family gathering here and it was the perfect spot - we were able to play games and make BBQ while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Overall, I highly recommend Mcdade Park to anyone in the area looking for a fun and family-friendly outing. It truly has something for everyone!
