The unilateral right-sided VATS operation he performed for me was an unmitigated success, and he required less than 90 minutes to accomplish what another prominent thoracic surgeon assured would take at least 4-6 hours through a bilateral approach. I recently underwent a VATS procedure video assisted thoracic surgery by Dr McKenna. Every aspect of my experience was positive: the initial consultation, scheduling the surgery, the procedure itself, my hospital stay, and recovery. Dr McKenna himself is knowledgeable and skilled. He is pleasant, respectful, and easy to talk to. His office staff is friendly and efficient. I recommend him highly!
I have been thankful for Dr. Mckenna everyday for the last 16 years. I am alive and well because he had the courage to think outside the box. No chemo, no radiation. He took out a lobe and I was out of the hospital 20 hours after. He is the best. Very grateful patient.
