I was brought to the ER by Ambulance from an after hours clinic. I was admitted after a few tests in the lobby were done to be watched over night and so my Dr could check in on me. This was roughly 11 in the morning Something for pain was written but it was an IV med that could not be administered in the lobby. After much self advocating, 5 hours later I was given a pain pill. I sat in the lobby a total of 17 hours before I laid my head in a bed, received 3 pills for pain in that time and tried really hard to remain calm. The triage nurse told me I'd be getting this review and to try and remember that they are extremely busy and understaffed. I turned around and looked at the waiting room that was practically empty and the two nurses, one for triage and one for the back ER area which is ridiculous. Dietary and sanitation is extremely understaffed as well. I've been going back and forth with myself, do I include this part or leave it out? but I think I have to include it so other families know before coming. A member of the faculty told us that the powers that be keep this ER and facility on the barest of staff depending on the amount of people. No more money wasted here. For the service they can provide with bare bones staff, someone will get hurt. These nurses, Doctors, sanitation and dietary specialists work their tails off to keep our County safe, can't you do the same? I gave a 2 only because I was able to see my Heart and Numerologist Drs while there.
If I could give it no stars I would! Worse experience ever! Never got into an actual room the whole six hours we were there but was treated in the waiting room along with numerous other patients! I had been feeling really sick and passed out at home and at the hospital and they didn't do a COVID test or a flu test to see if that's what was going on but of course did the high billing head CT scan and EKG. Just to be sent home feeling no better and discharge papers only state migraine but seek immediate attention if fainting or passing out occurs! Thankfully I have an awesome primary that figured out it was the flu and gave me what I needed to feel better!! Avoid this place like the plague!
After reading all of the other reviews.. my jaw dropped.. I hope all is well with them and that they have a speedy recovery.. my go to hospital is McLaren because they always treat me with kindness and concern.. I went to hurley hospital at the end of the pandemic.. I have asthma and was barely able to walk into the hospital.. I had my mask over my mouth.. I was instructed to put the mask over my nose and mouth.. I couldn't breathe at all.. I kept explaining this to them.. they didn't care.. they treated me like I was some diseased animal.. nurses came from out the back to yell horrible things to me.. they refused to treat me.. they ganged up on me and had the police throw me out.. funny thing... the officer didn't have on a mask at all.. they didn't say anything about that.. w hen I complained to patients care they told me I walked out of the hospital.. I went to McLaren who didn't care about the mask but to get me help right away.. my visit in the ER today was just the same.. I will always choose McLaren..
I was here today for a few hours. I had the pleasure of meeting Rob "?" With the Reddish hair in a bun. That guy really is a great contribution to your team at McLaren. He is a very good person and knows how to help someone in uncomfortable situations smile and you know his heart is in it. I want to say thanks to him, if this ever reaches you, you're great. -Johnny-
A lot of the nurses here have a lack of compassion Anita on the 8th floor to be exact and their rudeness is unreal. I would not recommend this hospital to an enemy! Your loved one is not taken care of properly. If you want to live and be well, do not choose this hospital. There is no need for you to respond to tell me to call your number and I already spoken with your incompetent staff about the lack of care that my loved one received.
Went in and got into a room quickly. I had blood drawn maybe half an hour later, then had a cat scan about a half hour after that. Then sat there for 4 hours for them to tell me I had a different minor issue and gave me meds for that without treating or dealing with the original problem. Staff was friendly when I did see them. Won't be going back if possible.
I was taken here by Ambulance from McLaren Emergency in Fenton. I had a CT scan done on my lower back and hip and was told the only thing that would fix my issue is surgery, so they sent me here. Now the neuro team is going off of an MRI from weeks ago, instead of the new CT scan or getting a new MRI. Telling me that it's not surgical and all they want to do is pain management, which I refuse to do. They need to help fix the issues, not cover them up with drugs. I have now asked 3 times for my pain meds bc they don't bring them at the hour you need, you have to ask for them- which makes me feel like a junkie. And the nurse is either not told that I asked, or they just take their sweet time getting to me. I asked st 4am, they never told my nurse and I never got them until 6am, and by then I was in pain. This place has ZERO communication. They don't care about the patients. They just want to keep you here and feed you drugs while they collect money from insurance but don't actually actually help you. I requested for my records to be transferred to somewhere that will.actually help.
Would not recommend. They employ and protect racist staff members who have been convicted of writing fake prescriptions for themselves and their family members AND felony DUI. Even better, they have a management team who threatened staff with termination when they came forward with their stories of these staff members. I don’t know about you, but I would NEVER allow anyone I cared about to receive care from such a vile place.
The ER is so short-staffed that I sat in there almost 16 hours waiting for my antibiotics that have already been ordered. when I was upstairs they gave me a pick line. They left me alone so long that my arm looked like a hot dog before it blows up in the microwave. I almost lost my arm. I would not recommend going to the hospital or the E.R.!!! Wound care at 3200 beacher rd is a different story. The ladies at wound care do a spectacular job!!
I was referred by a walk in urgent care facility to the Emergency Unit in Fenton to obtain blood work. I presented to the clerk in the Emergency Unit and gave her the order prepared by the Urgent Care Facility. The Emergency Unit did not seem very busy. After about 30 minutes wait time I was escorted by a nurse to an examination room. The nurse asked why I was there. I advised him that the order from the Urgent Care Facility was given to the intake clerk. He advised that he was not given the order. I explained the reason for my visit and he said he would check with the clerk. He took my vitals and advised me to remove my shoe and socks to allow the physician providing service to examine my foot. I pointed out to the nurse that the bed in the room had soiled sheets and he left. After an hour and a half of no contact I approached an employee who was passing by my now open door room to inquire what was going on? He said he would check. He returned shortly with a copy of my medication list that I had also presented to the clerk upon check in. After about another 20 minutes of no contact, I put my shoes and socks back on and started to leave the facility. As I past the nursing station, the nurse who I had seen was sitting at the desk. He questioned where I was going. I advised that I was leaving in that I had not seen anyone in almost 2 hours since he left and was supposed to have returned to advise me if the order from the Urgent Care had been located. His comment to me as I left was, "You haven't been seen by a doctor?" "We are very busy you know". I LEFT. The worst experience I have had with a medical facility. I have had 40 years of experience working in Multi Hospital Health Care Systems. This particular facility needs a refresher education on proper communication.
