I have been going to Meche since around 2013-2014. Yvonne took me day of because by the grace of God she happened to have an opening when I called that day. I walked in looking insane. PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT, Someone else at another place had tried doing highlights on me with a cap like back in the day I have way too much hair for that. Then, the girl had grabbed pieces manually and I just looked insane. When I walked in, I met Yvonne and she was super honest on what she recommended. She told me I should cut my hair and do low lights. While I wanted to go lighter, at this point it wasn't healthy for me. Since then I've gone super light and medium dark with her throughout the years and I cannot explain how many compliments I receive on a weekly basis. I am forever asked about who does my hair and what's the style and color that it's done in. She has never taken me too light to where my hair can't handle it and has always communicated with me with her opinion. I truly trust her with my color more than anyone! Best part?! I'm a brunette that has never gone brassy!!! Love her forever and will always go to her as well as recommend her. It is so so bad. I never left a bad review in my life but there is always a first time. I saw other bad reviews and I wanted try anyway… big mistake. From the attitude of the receptionist to the two time wrong color… the only good was Guy.. haircut was amazing but not enough yo go back the 3rd time.. overall a nightmare!

Everyone here is so lovely, and Kari is an absolute GENIUS colorist. I looked everywhere for someone who could do red hair, and had quite a few horrific experiences before traveling to LA for my color. Totally worth it.

they NEVER did what I asked for, I spent there from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm and I never got the proper attention, damaged my hair, not getting the color I wanted after all those hours of sitting plus paying $800 plus tips. really disappointing and depressing because hair is so meaningful to me and sucks that places like this can hurt you. very sad.
I am pretty picky about who touches my hair and have spent years growing it out to be a healthy sunkissed blonde balayage naturally, but I wanted to lighten it up just a bit with a smooth melty balayage near my face. I figured booking with the very best colorists $600 would ensure they were experts I could trust with my hair for the first time in years. When I went in for my appointment I showed very clear photos of what I was looking for and asked for a subtle, melty beige blonde balayage - I explicitly told her I did not want it to look streaky. She barely asked any questions and said she’d go mix up. I should’ve known then but I just assumed it was because she was their top tier skill level and my request was pretty simple. She came back and started FOILING near my face, despite me saying clearly I didn’t want it to look streaky. I double checked that it would look natural and she said yes. When she finished and the stylist cut and dried me, I was absolutely appalled at what she had done to my hair. I almost cried right then. The face framing layers of my hair were bright blonde and a completely different color than the rest of the blonde in my length, with streaks of my natural dark blonde in between them which made it look like bad 90’s highlights. That is NOT a balayage, and it is the OPPOSITE of what I asked for. When I told her calmly that I did not like the streaks around the face, she offered to fix it the following week - I agreed and felt better that she was willing to try again. But I should have just left it, because the second appointment made it infinitely worse. How did she try to fix it, you ask? By making the entire face framing layer chunkier and an even worse color of neon yellow blonde - one that I swear to god makes me cry every time I look in the mirror. I was visibly upset at this time and the only solution she offered was to use purple shampoo and ‘let it grow out.’ So after paying $900 pre tip for a few foils and a haircut I will now have to pay another $500+ for someone more competent to fix it. Tl/dr for all my balayage babes— save yourself money and heartbreak and find a colorist somewhere else.
My haircut was nice but very pricey for the simple cut I got but she did a nice job. You have to pay for parking even if you are getting any services done here and it's not cheap. I got my hair highlighted, it was way blonder than I asked for but it looks really good. Good place. The dress code is undesirable for the prices. I expected to step into a high end place but it looked like I stepped into super cuts. One of the employees actually looked like he just walked off a construction site.
I hope to god Liz and Frankie never leave this salon! From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome. No attitude just friendly fun people. Minya is the manager and so beautiful inside and out. She will make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. There is always a buzz of excitement in the air and you never know who you will see there but the most important thing is that my hair looks and feels amazing!! I can't say enough about everyone at Meche because they are all fantastic!
Great buzzing unpretentious place for haircut and style. Hanna Purdy is a wonderful stylist. Valet parking in the back is a bit expensive, but you can find street parking closeby. Easy to schedule with, and great morning hours on a Saturday.
