Came here to get my daughter checked out as her doctor is on vacation. Called to try and make an appt, was told will be fine just come on in. When going at 430 in it looked busy, fine. I signed in was told it would be about an hour so went to wait in car. Waited over and hour called said we were next to be called to come on in. Waited another 40min in waiting room. Finally going back to room after almost 2 hours. Another 30 min havnt heard a word and had to leave as it was almost 8pm. If you want to be seen in a timely manner suggest going elsewhere. Communication, if I knew it would of been that long I would of taken my daughter somewhere to keep entertained while we waited. So wasted the whole night with no answers
Dr. Poppa is a very caring doctor. She insisted that I get a cat scan on my lungs. I fought her on it for 2 months. I finally gave in and went, only to discover I had small cell lung cancer. It was still small and had not spread yet. She directed me to a wonderful surgeon at UH hospital. I had the upper right lobe of my lung removed 5 weeks after my cat scan. If she had not pushed me to get the cat scan, I wouldn’t be writing this today. I have had a full recovery and I am thankful everyday I met her. Kathleen Gehalo
If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. I keep getting billed for a Covid test that I paid for up front and not even a real Covid test, I came to find out later but an antibody test. I disputed the charge and was told it was a mistake. Then they start sending me bills for the same visit but for a different amount. When I called to tell them I’m not paying it, I got hung up on. How professional. Popa is a scam artist. This isn’t the first time she’s billed for services that were not performed. I saw other charges previously that were sent to my insurance company and were paid. Sorry lady, but I’m not paying for services you didn’t provide.
Not one person knew name of company who made the Covid 19 rapid test and could provide no answers on its reliability. While I tested negative on the test, I won’t be surprised if I’ve caught it just from being there. The registration tablet was not sanitized. At least one medical professional did not wear her mask and another didn’t have her nose covered for the 15 minutes I was in the waiting room. My patient room was not cleaned before I entered for my visit. The equipment was not wiped before or after it was used on me. The staff medical, support & cleaning congregated in narrow hallway. The parking lot is littered with patients bandaids and gauze wrap. Definitely avoid if you are financially able.
MedCare Center was advertising "Rapid Covid Testing", when they were in fact doing antibody testing. They stated very specifically, multiple times that the test that they were using could detect active/acute Covid infections. However, after I got home, I looked into it and found out that this was a lie. I called back up to MedCare Center and the woman on the phone continued to argue with me that it "could detect current infection with 96% accuracy." They were knowingly lying to patients about the capability of their test and charging those patients $90. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, and instead of trying to resolve the dispute with me, MedCare Center sent me another bill. Very unprofessional. Multiple patients have had this problem; so, I know this wasn't just a one time mistake. Their website was so misleading that they have since changed their wording, and they have recently added antigen testing. However, if a medical center is willing to lie to patients, putting the community at risk, I still wouldn't go there. Don't trust them with something as important as your health. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews on here. Most of them are from her friends/family/son's friends. Her own son gave his Mom a five star review twice stating that she has "been his doctor for 15 years." I personally don't think it is ethical to be your child's PCP.
I was in the office today and seen DR. Popa. The staff was kind and the girl who assisted the doctor was so sweet. DR. Popa was so helpful and took care of me. She treats me like I am actually a person when I have been treated badly in the past by other doctors. She is a kind doctor and understands your needs.
Please do not trust this place. They are misleading the public by advertising rapid Covid tests. I got tested not knowing it was an antibody test. The test was negative. The NP told me it was bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics and steroids. Well I went home and thought I was ok. I saw my mom and a few friends. Then my fever lasted for more than 5 days. This time I went to University Hospital to get retested because Med Care was run down and seemed unsterile. I took my paper work that Med Care gave me. The UH doctor said that’s not a rapid test and that it was an antibody test! I started with crying because I felt that this NP lied to me. I was crying because I exposed my family and friends! I had to carry the burden of possibly causing the death of so many people. Well I tested positive and my friend got it from me and spread it to his entire family! 27 people were affected and 3people hospitalized because Med Care was worried about their pockets and not thinking about their responsibility to the public! I will be making a formal complaint to board of health. They should not be allowed to practice. Please don’t go there because they do not uphold the ethical responsibility that is expected of a healthcare provider.
@medcaregroup #medcaregroup Med Care Group Inc. Has been always very professional from scheduling to requesting billing information and care over all. I feel the entire new staff is definitely on their game. This is a Urgent Care as well, so even having an appointment you may have a wait if there is an urgent walk in other walk ins wait until scheduled patients are seen. They have added two 2 CNP as well, my last appointment I had seen Amber Hollingsworth. Dr. Carmen Popa has an excellent bedside manor, takes her time with me explaining everything clearly. I have been seeing her over 10yrs. I would definitely recommend.
Great service and accommodating they saved my moms life before and found thyroid cancer early I am greatful for her and wish more doctors were as thorough as she was when she took care of my mom
We wait more the an hour when we have an appointment. And there was no one at the front desk. And the lady there didn't know what she was doing. When we got in to the room the toxic waste bin is overflowing with paper and needles. The room was just unorganized thing just look like they just throw it somewhere. The stafe was unfriendly and unprofessionally.
