Med-East Medical Walk In Center

I’ll preface this by saying it takes a lot for me to write a review, let alone one for a medical practice. That’s due to being in the healthcare field for over a decade, and frankly it’s not an easy job. However, I called Med East today roughly around 4:15 voicing concern over a reaction to a medication that was prescribed at their facility. The medical assistant informed me they were open until 5:45 and to come down to be seen. I verified the time twice. We arrived at 4:55 and we were refused care. I was informed that they were at a 4 patient capacity and they aren’t able to see any more patients. I was livid. I have worked in several urgent cares and there was NEVER a time where it was acceptable to turn patients away during open hours! The hours are until 5:45? Then I have until 5:45. A primary care, specialty office… that would be completely understandable. I was informed they had only one provider. Now that seems like a HHC/Med East problem, surely not mine. It is completely unprofessional and makes absolutely zero sense. If they would like to leave at a certain time, then they should close earlier. I was also not informed when I called that there was a chance I wouldn’t have been seen. This is not how a practice should be run let alone an Urgent Care Facility. The receptionist was very kind and I know she has zero control over this. This was just completely ridiculous to me and I honestly can’t fathom how this practice is still even running.

Dr. Sweeney is very knowledgeable and so is Dr. Moore. I had a positive experience. Call ahead to find out about wait times. The office medical techs were very friendly and helpful. Wish they were open more hours but glad they are available in our community.

This is the second time I have been turned away from this location. Monday I went there with a terrible cough, they said I have an Upper Respiratory Infection, gave me my script and sent me on my way. Here we are on Thursday the same week, I go back because my cough has worsened. I get to the door at 5:31pm and the door is locked stating that the Walk-In is at full capacity. There is literally 2 cars in the vicinity of the center. There is no way that when a clinic needs a receptionist, a nurse and a doctor that they were at full capacity. I’m very upset with this happening to me on multiple occasions.

I went to this clinic last month and had a great experience. Office staff were friendly and helpful and I got a prescription for a urinary tract infection. I was examined and treated by a competent PA in a timely manner. I would recommend this clinic highly.

I had a great experience here. The staff was kind and extremely helpful. Krystal, the medical assistant that helped me, was so sweet and made me feel very comfortable. I appreciate all the work everyone does there!

I just went into this walk in clinic and from the moment I walked in, nothing but friendliness and compassion!! The receptionist older woman with glasses, Crystal and Dr. Moore, ALL AMAZING!! I was in sooooo much pain with my issue, they got me right in and were soo very kind!! Thank you to All who worked on 2-21-23!! Wonderful experience!!! Also, Dr. Moores TX and prescription, has me feeling so much better already!! Thank you!!

After having an awful experience at another Hartford healthcare facility in south Windsor, today I went here. From the moment I checked in to leaving I was treated like a patient with some pretty strong health issues, I was given a course of treatment to address and heal my sickness, I was spoken to with dignity, I am so thankful to know that there are places where you are not seen as a number and more as a patient with a sickness that needs more help than an otc diagnosis. tabor was so great, he even acknowledged the idea that not all issues need antibiotic, but based on my history recently of severe jaw and tooth pain that was confirmed by my dentist not as tooth but sinus!! I’m resting now and looking forward to restoration

The doctor was decent. The wait was average. The attitudes on the rest of the staff was horrendous. Not only could you hear them complaining and taking about coworkers through the walls but I called the next day to discuss something with the nurse, a question about what I was told on the day before, I was told leave a message on their machine and they would return my call shortly. I did that. I never got a call back so I called shortly before they closed to make sure they were going to call back and the receptionist that answered was nasty. When you’re a sick patient the last thing you want to deal with is a rude person. She told me if I wanted an answer to my question I would need to come in for another appointment and yes, pay the copay again. I told her I just wanted to verify instructions that I was sent with and ask about medications and she told me no one would help me unless I came back in, there was no sign of my previous call. I will never go there again

The head nurse that took my temperature was really rude, I would ask her the simple questions and she would give me attitude. I had asked her for a mask and it’s was like I had ask her to make me a mask, she was very bothered by my request of asking for a mask. Very unprofessional.

The receptionist here is the worst person I've ever encountered in my entire life. I am so sorry that someone should live their life in such misery and aggression towards other people. However, her manner and tone are extremely unprofessional for any business but especially medical. I was treated with complete disrespect and rudeness. I have never felt this way from an interaction with a "professional" in my life. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to have a conversation with her. This is my second time here first time she was rude as well but worse this time. I am horrified by this experience and will never go back to this clinic again. I would take the time and effort to go somewhere else.
