ART + DIGITAL CULTURE + PERFORMANCE
MediaLive welcomes the most compelling contemporary artists and thinkers working internationally in new media.
Since 2012, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) has presented MediaLive, an annual festival that brings together art, digital culture, and technology. In 2017, the week-long series of performances, workshops, and events will investigate the theme: The Void. Do networked technologies offer a space of renewed possibility, or open up a more infinite abyss? MediaLive 2017 will question the tensions inherent in the technological void by welcoming the most compelling contemporary artists and thinkers working internationally in arts and technology. Their work will consider the presences and absences created by the ubiquity of social media, dating platforms, online virtual worlds, automated commercial interfaces, humanoid robotics, and more—that leave us feeling at once more connected and isolated than ever before.
