New feature "track my bus" My letter to Megabus: Hello, Welcome back to Northern California. I have been a loyal customer since 2010 ish and have always been happy with your service and was sad to see you leave several years ago. Unfortunately, on Tuesday May 16, 2023 your second day back to serving Sacramento to San Francisco. I missed my first bus due to your new track my bus feature. Unfortunately, it was not accurate with glitches which cause me to miss the bus all together. So I re-booked later that same day and your new tracking feature worked flawless. I had the perfect experience. I was wondering if you would be able to refund my first booking or even a credit voucher would be nice as I already have future trips planned. Thank you for your consideration. Megabus response: Hello and thank you for contacting Megabus Customer Service. I am sorry to hear you missed your bus! I understand you are requesting that refund be provided, however as outlined and stated in in the terms and conditions prior to proceeding with the purchase, all ticket sales are final. We suggest that all passengers be at the bus stop location 15 minutes before boarding to ensure timely boarding as we cannot hold the doors open for passengers who are unable to make their trip. Once our driver completes loading passengers onto the bus, the doors are shut and the parking brake is released, and the bus departs. While I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced, we are unfortunately unable to provide you with any compensation refund, credit as the service was executed. The Megabus from Sacramento brought us into a gorgeous SF day. The juxtaposition of the smell of piss crammed up next to utter wealth is memorable, but not a musk I’d purchase. Art, oolong tea, fortune cookies, and the view combined for a gorgeous day. Thanks sf!
We took the Megabus from Sacramento to San Francisco for a day of fun on a Saturday. Our driver was really great, the bus was on time, clean and comfy. The bus even has a bathroom that was very clean. And no worries if you are hungry, they allow food on the bus, just no alcoholic beverages. We typically take the ferry from Vallejo to SF which is a neat experience as well but if you are looking to save money, the bus gets your there in the same amount of time, and faster if there is no traffic. The Megabus is very affordable and easy. We did pay the extra and reserve our seats since it was our first time but unless you want to sit in the front, there really is no need. The seats aren’t any different. The benefit is having an assigned seat because after seat 10 I think that’s what it was it’s all just open seating. We had a great day in SF and will certainly be using them again!
Seriously have to give it the benefit of the doubt and say that Megabus is actually a pretty great bus line FOR THE PRICE. I see all these reviews complaining about poor customer service or how the bus is always late but what did you expect for $6? I'm surprised the bus shows up at all for $6. Take a $35 greyhound if you want reliability. Overall, got me from SF to Sacramento only 15 mins past when expected and was comfortable and easy ride. Great for those on a budget.
Decided to go from LA to San Jose and back. Each way there was more than an hour delay in departure. The price and the bus itself were good but I did not enjoy arriving LA at 1am!!!!
Megabus totally sucks. Anywyay the location is incorrect - though the PDF mentions Townsend and 5th as pickup it's actually on the other side of the road. I actually lost my position in the line because of some earlier review. Please queue up where everyone else is queuing. #Lets really guide.
If I could I would have put just one star..... worst bus service ever. Don't even think about going on this to anyplace. .. had to stay for about an hour outside in the sun Try a service like greyhound which is much more efficient.
They advertise an unusable wifi. You can connect to it if you're lucky, but the speed makes it unusable. Worse: they don't acknowledge it even when we show our phones.
Left on time and arrived on time, the bus was reasonably comfortable, no stress or white knuckles.
