Delicious food and very nice service. The buffet is absolutely one of the best deals at only $10 for all you can eat buffet. The atmosphere is nice and quaint too. We will definitely be going back again soon.
The food had flavor, the sauces were thick but not too heavy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite pleasant. Also has a nice take out area under the restaurant for if you just want to pop in for some curry.
Small and quaint, “hole in the wall” kind of shop downstairs from the street. We unfortunately did not get to see the restaurant upstairs as we were in a hurry. Perfect place to grab food to go and plenty of vegan & vegetarian options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food packs some nice heat and highly recommend the samosa.
Initial review first visit: My wife and I ate there last night 11/6/17. Food was excellent. Wait staff was very polite. Portions were generous. Large menu. My wife couldn't finish hers and brought home half. I finished mine, but I ate too much. And the price was so affordable, I tipped generously. The only small issues I had were: the dish I ordered didn't say on the menu it contained onions. I wish it had, because I'd have asked to hold the onion I'll know for next time though. Plus, the exterior appearance of the venue was not very appealing but the interior was great. I was tempted to give it 4 stars due to the little issues, but the food was so good, I'm glad we found this place - a hidden gem. I want them to stay around and for more people to discover them - so, 5 stars! Totally worth it. Subsequent review delivery on 2/25/2018: I must say, we were very disappointed in our meals this evening. The rice was good, the naan was average, but the masala was very poor - both the chicken that I got and the paneer that my wife got. The chicken quality was pretty low, but the worst thing was the sauce. It was nowhere near the quality of the sauce we had on our first visit. It was like a tomato soup. Masala is our favorite dish, and this was such that we wouldn't want to order it again, if it's like this. I'd gotten the masala last time and I remember being so impressed how good it was. So I'm hoping this was only a fluke. We'll have to see if it happens again... I reduced the rating down to 3 stars. I would have selected 2, but our first visit was so good, I had to average it out.
I am giving a 1 star review because 0 is not an option. I have not eaten such a horrible Indian food in my entire life. The place stinks, the food was stale. Other than the Naan every food item seemed to be old. The rice and daal had to have been at least 3 days old. I highly recommend not eating here. They are a disgrace to genuine, authentic, Indian food.
Excellent food, great ambience and efficient service. We had gone to celebrate a special occasion. Our waiter was polite , attentive and efficient. All the dishes were delicious, my favorite were Lassoni. Gobi Mix grill , Butter chicken and their special ice cream kulfi. Did I mention, it's a BYOB. Looking forward to my next visit!!
I've been to this restaurant frequently and used to be a regular. When it first opened, my god the food was AMAZING. I think it would have been one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. They made the food so tasty and everything was served fresh and warm. Recently, they changed the chef which may be the reason for the immediate change in food. It was not good. I gave it a shot three times after not being good because it used to be amazing, but I am disappointed. Aloo Tikki's were hard and chewy, not crispy and flaky. Ran out of the green chutney to serve with it because there was no cilantro. Ordered my food, which is the same order every time. 1. It was cold 2. The rice was obviously old and just microwaved. I think they stopped using basmati rice that they did prior to this. 3. The food was more oily and less tasty. 4. You will see the papad drowned in oil. I love the idea of the papad chips, but they need to fry them properly. 5. They ran out of chilli's which is probably why my food was not spicy. So that's two things they ran out of. I know of a indian grocery store 15 mins away max. Get it from there... No garnishing on the food either. If I was rating the restaurant when it first opened, I would give it a 5 hands down! The chef cooked fresh and hot food. It was great. Now, it gets a two because of pretty bad food. Still, the servers are very friendly and welcoming into the restaurant.
Can't tell you how happy we are to finally have a GOOD Indian restaurant near home and work! Takeout is prompt and accurate, the staff is friendly and helpful, the dining room is clean and inviting, and most importantly, the food is fresh and delicious! So happy to have Mehek in the neighborhood.
The food was good but not great. We really liked the naan, the biryani, and the chaat. The problem was their lamb masala. I picked up my food at 10 PM and it looks like these folks ran out of lamb so they used goat meat instead. Why not just let me know thats what you did? Instead I get home and take a bite of goat chunk curry.
It is so far the worst experience in an India restaurant I had. I visited this restaurant on Friday May 5th 2017 and again on Sunday 7th May 2017 and guess what - the menu option was 100% same. Bizzare! It clearly tells me that no new item were ever prepared in the restaurant. Repeat Menu that too 100% Repeat including desserts. The Fruits were old enough to throw out poor smell and anybody to figure it out. When I raised this issue to the person on the counter - he abruptly said, we are serving Naan and Rotis on the table !, you should enjoy those service. I paused for a second and laughed - Guys, This is what you HAVE to do, if you don't keep Indian Breads along with rest food items. Yes you heard me right, they do not keep Naans and Rotis along with buffet trays. So they have to serve it on table. Even it took them 15 mins to serve me my Wheat Roti on the table. Lastly - There was a party going on in their party hall and all of the staff was busy there. So almost nobody would pay attention to you and if you order something, it would take forever to arrive at your table. The food is totally tasteless and not at all spicy. Man, India food needs to have spice and that's what make people to love it and they want to come more over and over to enjoy it. When I asked them to prepare it spicy, they brought us "SIRICHA". Wow My advise to you The one who is planning to go to this restaurant - Skip this , if you can. And even if you want to try your luck, ok - go there but if you find any party going in the party hall right next to the place where they serve regular customers. DO NOT WASTE your time and Money
