Well kept store, Large departments, expansive liquor and wine area, huge pet area. Friendly available staff I actually got asked for help in the pet area without asking, awesome.
They had what I was looking for, but when it was time to checkout, all three open registers were three deep with full carts. There were self-check out registers, but after a 10 hour day where I get paid, I am not going to do more unpaid work. I left.
Sycamore store let me order 1 box of tea because that's all they had in stock. St Charles store allowed me to order 19 boxes, implying they had 19 in stock. I made $100 order with no problem. TODAY when I arrive for pickup, the associate comes out with 4 boxes and says that's all they have. I sit there checking my email to see if I missed one. They sent me an email FIVE MINUTES AFTER I ARRIVED AND HAD CALLED TO SAY I'M HERE FOR MY ORDER! Associate comes out two minutes later!! So, they did NOT have what I asked for, KNEW they did not have it and waited til I arrived to tell me so I wouldn't cancel order last night! Insult to injury, another associate comes out as I'm checking email and asks what I'm doing, clearly trying to hurry me along. Now I know why their pickup area was empty.
Lots of fresh options for our lunch. I didnt care for the chicken salad croissant sandwich that I got, but the other sandwiches were good. Store was clean and checkout was quick and easy.
Today the manager treated me so badly that in the end it made me laugh.  It turns out that I was going to the garden center and a kind lady tells me that she is going to call to open it. After 20 minutes waiting, I go to customer services and the manager arrives asking me what I wanted from there ?? and then she tells me that's opens at 11 am. It was 10 o'clock. Is there a sign there?  No.  Somebody told me?  No.  Maybe they should give that person a customer service course.
I really was beginning to like this store, it's always clean, reasonable prices and conveniently located. Today, I stopped in after already shopping at two other stores in the area, I was looking for a specific product that the Meijer website stated they had in stock. After checking the aisle that was shown online, the product was not there. I found an employee stocking and asked if he could check if they had this product. He nicely instructed me that he was a vendor and that an actual store employee would be best able to assist me. I walked a few more aisles looking for an employee and filling my cart. I happened upon another employee and asked the same question, this time, I was instructed to go to the front of the store and ask customer service. I walked all the way to the front of the store from the back corner of grocery to the service desk to ask if they had this product. I explained that their website said they did, but the shelf it was supposed to be on had a different product but the correct tag for the item I was looking for. They asked for the product info, I provided a picture of the shelf tag and was told that if it wasn't on the shelf, they probably didn't have it. I asked if they could look it up because the website shows it in stock. They just repeated they if it wasn't on the shelf, it probably wasn't available. I was pretty irritated at the general laziness of the employees at this point, so I left my cart with groceries there. I went across the street to Jewel to spend my money. Still being pretty irritated by the lack of service from the customer service desk I called to speak to a manager. After instructing the automated system that I'd like to speak to management, I sat on hold and was answered by a woman I asked are you a manager, Iwas told no, so I again asked to speak to a manager. I waited again on hold until again I was answer by someone. I asked are you a manager, I was answered, yes. I explained what had happened and was answered with an unsympathetic "I will address this issue"... I explained my dissatisfaction with him and his staff and concluded the call. As the old saying goes, a fish rots from the head. It seems everyone is disinterested in helping a customer. I unstand this is not the most grave injustice to ever happen and may even seem petty, but the astounding lack of customer service is very hard to portray accurately.
This Meijer is regularly out of popular items. It is so frustrating go to such a big store and leave knowing you have to go to another store to get what you need. Otherwise, I love the staff here. They are kind and genuine.
Irene was very kind in signing me up for mperks today. I’ve been shopping at this Meijer for months now and this was the most helpful any employee has been thus far.
LOVE This location. It's so organized and clean and the workers are so helpful and nice. The store is so big!
Both Meijer's on Randall road are pretty good, but I like this one slightly better. Veggies seem fresher and staff in that department are always helpful. Usually we'll stocked. All checkouts are slow everywhere, but a number of their checkers can be quite quick which is nice!
