A really wonderful look at one of the greatest shipwreck treasure adventures of all time! Inexpensive less than $10 each for about an hour to see it all. Highly recommended.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Great place to see and learn about the biggest sunken treasure find in American history. Great exhibit, Great gift shop. The staff very friendly and helpful with answers. It' a must to go to Key West and see the Big Mel Fisher Museum, That's where you will see the "Mother Load". We were lucky to meet Mel in Key West 30 years ago. I posted a photo..... Sorry No Photos of us now.
Nice little museum that shows some of Mel Fisher’s treasure finds along with his history, as well as that of the shipwrecks and centuries past. It’s relatively small but they do pack a decent amount of artifacts and displays inside, along with a movie and gift shop. I would say adults would appreciate this more than younger children unless they are really into history, treasure hunting, etc. We visited in a Saturday afternoon and didn’t have to wait.
Excellent museum with more displays, information then we expected. Touching the gold bar and the value of the real bar was exciting.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
This place was very cool to see in person after seeing plenty of stuff on TV about their discoveries and the staff was very polite and friendly.Visited onWeekday

This is a small museum, but it's packed with treasure literally. There are actual pieces of the salvaged treasure for sale in the gift shop. The movie was very informative. The displays are well done. There are some interactive items, including a knot tying station and a gold bar that you can touch and pick up +if you are strong enough.
A good older museum telling Mel Fisher’s story. This museum is located right off US1 on the east side of the road. It took me 3 times to find it since there was road construction being done right in front on the day I decided to visit it. I recommend approaching this from the Indian River Drive side. You will find it at the corner of This road and Jefferson street. The parking lot in front next to the US-1 side only has about 10 spaces. The entrance is on Jefferson street side. It may look dated but the story it tells about Mel Fisher is worth the visit. You enter and pay the fee tickets are $8/person for adults. There is a film that explains the Mel Fisher story in a theater on the left. Once complete you exit the museum proper. It is a set of displays describing his treasure hunting, supreme court fight for treasure hunter rights, and his life and legacy. The authentic displays lead you into the gift shop where you can buy a piece of history. It is a great tribute to Mel Fisher, his history, his legacy, the treasures he found, and his fight to keep them against the government. The staff was great. The price was reasonable. If you want to learn about this fascinating person, this site is a diamond in the rough.

Interesting and educational. Make sure you watch the movie before walking through the museum. Young kids may find it hard lots of reading. But history lovers will enjoy the real artifacts and treasures.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
