I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
My style of therapy incorporates the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of healing. I believe that no lasting change can happen without integrating body, mind and spirit. I have studied many different disciplines including body oriented methods of healing, such as yoga and psychological kinesiology and I am currently being certified to bring nutrition into the therapy room. I encourage a positive, present centered relationship with the body/mind/spirit.
My primary type of psychotherapy is EMDR and DBT. I am also trained and skilled with mindfulness and art therapy and I appreciate how these modalities offer a tangible sense of peace, insight and integration.
It is my aim to help clients heal things from the past, realize their potential, increase their ability to function harmoniously in the world, improve the quality of all their relationships, and to tune into their innermost sense of self and purpose. I believe that each person's healing journey is unique and that every obstacle is an opportunity to grow and learn.
My previous experience includes working with individual and their families in inpatient and outpatient treatment centers for mental health disorders, addiction, and chronic pain. In my private practice, I provide individual counseling with diverse populations, including adolescents, healing from: trauma, personality disorders, substance abuse, pain management, life transitions, LGBT related issues, anxiety, depression, and self esteem issues.
I teach trauma sensitive yoga classes and private sessions,facilitate women's circles, and teach workshops with an emphasis on the psychological aspects of the mind/body/spirit connection.
I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Religious Studies with a Minor in Art and Women’s Studies from Cleveland State University, OH and I obtained my Master's in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, CA.
