Reviews, get directions and information for Mellon Park
"Mellon Park was the original estate of Richard Beatty Mellon, whose 60-room mansion was the largest house in Pittsburgh. In 1929, he chose landscape architects Vitale and Geiffert -- premier design firm of the Country House Era -- to develop the Walled Garden of his estate grounds. The property originally had been laid out in 1912 by noted Pittsburgh architects Alden and Harlow with subsequent work by the renowned Olmsted Brothers firm of Brookline, Massachusetts."

I love this park because you're so close to the city, lots of cafes and storefronts, but you feel like you're in a completely private garden when within the walls of the park. I look for any and every opportunity to visit this lovely space.
A stunning park with so many places to walk and hangout. Especially amazing for engagement photos!!
Beautiful park! Its dog friendly with both concrete pathways and large grassy areas. Also has a ton of beautiful flowers and small gardens- which makes it a popular spot to have family photos taken. I didnt see any public restrooms but there were port-a-johns in a couple places.
Love relaxing here on a sunny day. The park has vegetable garden in summer which is very exciting alongside some markets. Very green, peaceful, and a nice place to wind down on a nice summer day.
First time visiting and it was so neat! I’ve never been to a walled in park, so that was a fun experience. The views of the city were nice. Many trees for shade and seating all around. Beautiful!
Super pretty and very picturesque. There are also an assortment of people who take their photos there which is a testament to the true natural beauty of this park.
This park really is a hidden gem. It has a really beautiful lawn with a fountain and surrounding Walls. And has a really great view from the top of the park. Make sure you stop down in the Rose garden to learn about the plants that they grew near Fort Pitt. If you’ve never been here definitely take the time to get to know this great park.
Beautiful view and well maintained. Picnic area full of shades and place to relax sleeve time. Scenic photo shoot place.
One of the most photogenic parks in all of Pittsburgh! So many architectural details and hidden nooks. Highly recommend but definitely get there early in the morning for a lighter crowd for engagement photos or family sessions.
We walk here a lot and it's a great place to picnic, meet up with friends, take photos, or just relax and read a book. I'm excited for the upgrades they're planning including the traffic calming that'll make getting to the park easier plus the storm water mitigation that's long overdue.
