Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) is a nonprofit, 612-bed academic hospital in Savannah, Georgia. We opened our doors in 1955 and have evolved into the most comprehensive healthcare provider in the region. We are a regional referral center for cardiac care, cancer care, trauma, pediatrics, high-risk obstetrics, and neonatology. Our hospital includes the region's only Level 1 trauma center, the region's only children’s hospital, and the Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine.

Memorial University Medical Center is part of the award-winning Memorial Health system, a two-state healthcare organization serving a 35-county area in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. In addition to MUMC, our system includes physician networks, business and industry services, and NurseOne, our 24-hour call center. We also offer a major medical education program that provides physician residency training in diagnostic radiology, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and surgery.

Drs and staff were no nice . And I dont mean like oh hi good morning how are you? Nice..I mean like . Good morning ma'am. Did you sleep well? Are you in any pain? How may I help you ? Nice !!!! Food was actually great!!! They kept my room clean. Answering any and all questions I had. Security is abundant here . Don't let that scare you. They also may take their time on a few things. But they will get those things done..
I gave birth here back in May, the nurses were excellent during my stay. My housekeeper Ms. Dorothy told me how beautiful my baby was and kept my room clean. Even though I ended up having an emergency C-section, I still had excellent care from every nurse I encountered in the mother and baby wing. The food was also great and they even asked my husband if he needed anything. I will definitely give birth, here again if I have the opportunity.
Unfortunately, my visit was through the Emergency Room , I fell at work and my blood pressure was very high. Everyone was extremely helpful and made my visit VERY comfortable. The Doctor was on time and very compassionate. She did an awesome job and very professional. The ER was very busy but each person was calm and very attentive. My Visit was 100% taken care of and treated very kindly. Karla
Honestly, this is the first ER in the area that I felt I was treated/taken seriously, and not just written off and sent home. The doctor did a thorough evaluation before releasing me. The only issues was the wait times, which is to be expected at any ER. I do think the beds in the hallway could have a little more privacy, but understand they’re working with what they have. Ones closer to hallways could also be moved just a little further down because they do sometimes get hit by passing traffic. The Radiology was also amazing, very reassuring, kind etc. overall my experience with this hospital was a positive experience.
The staff was very nice and took great care of me. I stayed overnight after back surgery. At discharge time, I couldn't get a walker because the nurse told me, it was going to take another hour for me to get it. The Orthopedic guy told me to just go to Walmart and buy one. I didn't like that at all. So, I was sent home without a cane or walker to assist me after surgery. Night shift nurses was awesome! Took very good care of me.
My sons visit was perfect! Practioners and staff were wonderful and attentive My only complaint is registration never even came into the room, hence we missed the opportunity to pay our copay and to receive the discount. I asked if they would come in but no one ever showed up. My son was perfectly capable of signing the consents! This is not the first time. Registration needs to do better.
Satisfied with Service of Doctor and Nurse of the hospital while my uncle having treatment a few days back.. Security Guard was so helpful to find out room of patient in the night time too
My experience was due to a scheduled c-section to deliver my son. The nurses on labor & delivery still treated me so kindly and made sure I was comfortable, despite just being in triage waiting for my surgery time. Dr. Osborne performed my c-section and took amazing care of me. The nurses, other doctors, and staff that I encountered on the mother/baby wing during my stay were fantastic.
My husband went in to the Day Surgery unit for an inguinal hernia surgery. This was such a positive, actually pleasurable and not scary, experience. Everyone at Memorial was super friendly, courteous, helpful, caring, yet also professional. We felt the personal attention that was given. We cannot think of a better combination. Everyone we encountered, from our great surgeon, Dr. Whipple, to the receptionists at the Day Surgery unit, to the super friendly and tremendously helpful receptionist at the main surgical waiting room I regrettably did not get her name who had our car brought down to us in the pouring rain as we prepared to leave, to the nursing staff including Sonya and Brenda who prepared my husband for surgery, to the special anesthesiologist Dr. Miller who made certain there was no nausea afterward, to our kind little nurse Allison in recovery, to the call back to check on my husband and their get well card... all of this added up to such a positive experience. The standards that Memorial held to are to be commended. We cannot thank you all enough! And my husband, the patient, is doing well, recouping and getting better each day.
I know nurses have a hard job and it's hard to take care of so many patients. I am a registered nurse for 38 years. The first two shifts that took care of me after my knee replacement were awful and scary. They got me admitted ok. Took over 8 hours to connect my compression sleeves. When I asked for pain medication or ice or whatever, sometimes it would take about 4 hours and 3 requests. Thank goodness my son was staying with me. I cant imagine if he hadn't been there. He helped me to the bathroom all day and night and back in the bed. Had a flush syringe the nurse used and left it connected for no reason for about 6 hours. All of this was awful until finally! 2 wonderful nurses and coaches came into my room. Wednesday am 12/7/22. Traveling nurse Jackie, orienting nurse Tonia and coach Dominique! They were excellent, helpful, quick to answer, easy to make requests to, knowledgeable and amazing. They are the reason I gave 2 stars. I would like to give them 5 stars.
