Was There About 2 Days Ago. I Would Give This Medical Facility 10 Stars If I Could. The Entire Emergency Room Staff was Exceptional. The Nurses, Technicians, Doctors And Everyone Else We're Kind, Caring Went Above And Beyond To Help You Relax Make You As Comfortable As Possible. They Listen To What Ailes You And They Do Everything In Thier Power To Help You And Get You Back To A Normal Healthy Lifestyle. Percent Thanks The Entire Staff.
I would give this facility 0 stars if possible. My family and I were here due to my grandfather being in the ICU. Initially we were in the ICU waiting area, no medical staff that saw us stated anything about masks, food, or children being in the area. One night as we left, we spoke to a security guard to regain entry the same night as permitted by medical staff. He saw us with children and food and said absolutely nothing. We saw another security guard on the way out and gave him the same information, but he was extremely rude. The following day the security guard we saw the first night approached us and said we needed to move to the main lobby, and couldn’t have food. We were upset about this because it seemed to be about our race. As in your staff came across as racist. None of the white people in the ICU without masks, who had children and food were asked to leave or reminded of any rules. It was only us who were told something. We moved to the main waiting area as told, and there were no signs about no food. We understand if there are designated eating areas, however nobody notified us about this we were only told we couldn’t have food in the ICU waiting area. Friday some family members were eating in the main waiting area and we were approached by an extremely rude, old, rent-a-cop who rudely demanding us to rid of the food or go to eating area down the hallway. My family told him the other security guard didn’t tell us this so we didn’t know and in thee most absolute disrespectful tone stated “well I’m the one here now”. My family also told him all the white people in the lobby earlier were seen without masks, eating food and he just continued to be rude to us.Additionally, a patient was walking around the facility in her gown with a dog. I’m unsure if this was a service animal or not but she was white too. Seriously seems as though the staff at this facility is racist because we were the only ones treated so poorly by your staff for the exact same things white people were all over the facility doing. You should do better by posting these rules all over the grounds if they are truly the rules you expect to be followed, especially as a first resort rather than your rude security staff. Additionally, this is one of the dirtiest hospitals I have ever seen in my life, all the way from the front entry to the ICU waiting room there were spots from liquids spilled and black marks on the floor the entire time I spent here, never getting cleaned up. And the hallways smelled like sewer. The facilities appear disgusting and it’s such a shame the staff has an attitude to match it, even when people are here to be close to family members who are dying. EDIT: the third security guard who approached us so rudely in the main waiting area saw an elderly African American man, who was a Veteran, literally leaving the hospital in his motorized wheelchair and started yelling at him to put on a mask and to leave. This elderly man was literally almost out the door and your staff decided to approach him this way. Yes we all understand the need for masks during this time, but this man was obviously leaving your facility and there was absolutely no need to continue the racism and yell at him about a mask when no white people, including your white doctors, aren’t held to the same standards. Also, your visiting policy online states children under 18 cannot be in private areas of the hospital. there were no children actually visiting my grandfather, they were only in the waiting area with their parents in who were visiting our grandfather. If the ICU waiting area is private, you need to have that posted. nobody else with children was told anything by the staff who saw them. Only the Mexicans.
I never give a perfect score because there's always room for improvement. Memorial Hospital has impeccable staff. The nurses to the kitchen staff have shown me nothing but their love for what they do, the excitement to learn more and never once did I hear any negative comments about having to be here. For 7 years, I have struggled to find out what is wrong, for 7 years I have had many diagnosis and for the first time in 7 years, the cardiology department at Memorial Hospital has finally given me that hope. Well done Memorial Hospital!!
Have taken family member today for X-ray and bloodwork because of injuries. The ER had filled up very fast and they were so efficient and taking care of everyone as fast and safe as possible. I was impressed with the kind caring staff and really glad they did our care in the middle of all these people coming in. Even with no rooms available and full house! I’ve always loved Memorial as my go to hospital because of the care I received, and once again I am glad I chose them. And I’ve been to one closer to my home but wasn’t impressed.
I have been here with my baby before and the experience in the emergency room was a nightmare. Well, my baby got sick again06/21and I was not happy about coming back. But when we got to the emergency room they took her in right away the triage was smooth and we were in a room in the matter of minutes. X-ray and blood work was done within in the first 30mins. Although we waited in the ER about 8 hours my baby just slept. The nurse Victor was absolutely amazing! He was very tentative and he made sure we had something to eat. He was very good with my 11month old. I wasn’t too happy with the ER doctor so Victor made sure I had all the information I needed and kept me up constantly on the process. We were admitted into the pediatric unit for 2 days and all of the staff went above and beyond to make sure my daughter received the best care. And knowing I was one very exhausted mamma the nurses were absolutely understanding and did everything they could to make us comfortable. I am beyond pleased with the care my little family had received.
I went to the ER with shortness of breath. The staff was awesome, they ushered me right in and started tests. It wasn't my heart but a PE, which was quickly diagnosed. I was expecting to be there all day; and I was in and out, within 3 hours. I wish they would have called in my prescription for me, it was odd to get an actual written/printed out prescription. I am grateful for Dr. Michael Lara and the ER staff.
There at ER few days ago and while the staff were nice I don't think they did a particularly good job. Never had medical staff not get at least half of history. Never had medical staff not really explain what was going on. It felt like they'd made up their mind as soon as they saw me and treated me accordingly. After getting BP a "little down" to 185/105 and eventually down to normal was discharged without a single prescription. Every single symptom I had was right back the next morning. I guess I should feel blessed that I got an afternoons respite from pain, uncomfortableness and stress but honestly it feels like a waste of time and effort.
On 9/24/22 my sister went in around 11pm to the ER. She goes there because her Dr work with MMC. She usually get medical attention right away and staff is fantastic. Not this night, this night the staff was a nightmare. Never have is seen so many unprofessional staff. The head DR. Was so rude to another patient and instead of trying to calmly explain what they where trying to do it just made the patient even more mad and upset by telling her bad luck I’m the person in charge tonight and what I say goes. IAfter a few hours Of my sister being in the hall way of the ER two cops came in with a guy and they where not able to get him medical attention due to that staff completely ignore them. After a while they left and took the man to another hospital. As soon as they stepped out the staff said asked each other if they had left and someone said “yes thank goodness I didn’t even attend him” That’s what they are there for to give medical attention!!! That’s why they work in a hospital!
I had to get a pulmonary Function Test done and William was AWESOME!!! VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! He not only explained everything to me about the process but gave me information about my lungs & medication. William is also BEYOND Friendly. As someone from Hawaii, I say he has the spirit of Aloha! He is welcoming and makes you feel comfortable.
They got us in and out quickly to do a blood draw, but I was deeply upset that the receptionist was not wearing a mask. The nurse who drew my 3 month old son's blood was also not wearing a mask. I asked her to put one on before I let her get close to him. She did put one on, but it seemed to be a big deal. One of the assistants had to go to another to a separate room to get one. I just can't believe that they're ok with this while COVID is still killing and crippling people everyday. I wore an n95, but my baby is at the mercy of everyone we interacted with and I hope, hope, hope we didn't get COVID from this medically necessary blood draw.
