The Memorial Student Center is the student union located on the Marshall University main campus.
The Memorial Student Center exists as a living memorial to those killed in the November 14, 1970 plane crash. The Student Center maintains a continuing goal of providing facilities, services, conveniences and amenities to enhance life for our University community. The MSC Operations Office is responsible for business operations in the Student Center and for the implementation of several contract operations, including campus-wide vending contracts and an ATM contract with a campus banking component.
Opened in 1971, the Memorial Student Center underwent major renovation during 1997-98 culminating in the opening of a 7,000 square foot wing on the west end of the building to house the university bookstore. In addition to the Bookstore, the Memorial Student Center also houses a Recreation Area, several dining areas and a Catering Office, student service related offices, the Marshall University ID Office, an Electronic Post Office, and numerous rooms that can be scheduled for meetings and conferences.
