The most beautiful job for every season !
Wider selection than I see at most places, but have to agree about the pricing seeming higher too. I bought a couple flats of annuals for $20 each, and four Magenta plants for $4.50 each. I asked a young man if he could direct me towards a bright flower that does well in dry soil. He didn't have an answer but immediately tapped a fellow employee who did. She walked me to the Portulacas which fit the bill exactly.
Absolutely one of my favorite places to shop. If you want nice quality items that you don't find at any other store then this is the place for you. Their Christmas displays are magical. Not to mention the staff is so helpful and friendly and they always take the time to assist you even during such a busy holiday. Yes, some items are expensive but that old saying is true that you get what you pay for. We purchased our artifical Christmas tree there 7 years ago and it is unlike any other tree we ever had. Looks real, great quality and expect we will get 20 plus years out of it. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Wish I could give it less than one star. They have a really nice selection of plants, shrubs and flowers but are more expensive than most. Generally, I don't mind paying more for something that has been cared for properly as opposed to the manner in which chain store garden sections care for their plants. My problem is that I always feel as if I'm annoying them when I come in the store and they're always too hurried to really answer my questions. As a matter of fact, they're downright snotty. When it comes to customer service, I vote with my dollar and will not shop there any longer.
I am so happy with my front yard landscaping. It is just beautiful ! The plan by the designer was perfect. The plants are healthy and just the right size, and many are different colored flowering plants. The workers did a marvelous job taking out the old, tired looking stuff, outlining the new landscape, renewing the bed, and finally putting in the new beautiful plants and shrubs. I am thrilled. Thank you so much.
The Menne crew did an outstanding job landscaping around the house and patio. They even got large patches of yard to grow grass where the contractor machinery had earlier torn-up the yard and their people couldn't get grass to re-grow. The landscaping foreman and workers were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their work. The Menne family seems to enjoy what they do and their work ethic carries over to their people. It was a very pleasant experience for us.
Very overpriced and sneaky! When I ordered my plants the price kept going up each time they called me back. I reluctantly agreed as I had trouble finding these plants elsewhere and later, when I went to cash out and asked how much they were and they were trying to charge me more than the agreed on price...which made the total about $50 higher than they said it would be! This is a good place to go just to ask questions on how to care for your plants, not to spend your money. If you're looking for certain plants then just search for Apopka nurseries. I found out later that this nursery just gets them from Apopka Florida Farms and charges quadruple the price to the customers.
I have shopped on and off at Menne for years. I also find them alittle expensive but very convenient. My last trip there was about two weeks ago, it will also be my last. I had a problem with one of my shrubs that lasted for two seasons. The first time I went in last year I brought in a clipping and asked for some advice. The employee looked at my sample, told me it was new growth and then just dismissed me, didn't ask any questions. When or where I planted it, did I fertilize, what do the plants around it look like, nothing. Wasn't happy with the answer, but maybe I did ask a stupid question. So I took his word for it. This year, the same thing is happing but to another shrub also. So I took samples of both shrubs in and talked with a older gentleman who I assume was the manager because the first employee said he was the one to ask. AWSOME, I thought I'll find out what the problem is and fix it. Nope. He asked no questions but had the answer, you guessed it, new growth. His solution? If you don't see any progress in two weeks cut it back, start over. WHAT?? It's just a baby, there is nothing to cut back I said. He looked at me with that "your bothering me" look. So I left. Went to hi-way. I talked with a manager, he was alittle puzzled, he started asking questions, even looked up some things on-line. He suggested fertilize, and walked me over to some, explained to me what was what and why. Well low and behold... my shrubs are starting to look healthier. Its amazing what alittle fertilizer can do. I not only learned about fertilizers that day but I also found my new nursery. Shame on Menne, if you just would of gotten off that high horse of yours and taken an extra few minutes, asked some questions this review wouldn't be here.
I was given gift cards for Menne Nursery- which I was told they will not except - they changed their name then state they been in business for 75 years - they are rude people - A!
