Mentor Police And Jail

Mentor Police are outstanding!!! We’ve lived in Mentor 3 years now, and they have helped us out a few times already. Fast, friendly, and fastidious!!! Thank you, Mentor PD…!!!

With so many criticisms and negativity across the country these days against our police officers, I must take this opportunity to comment on the many good and dedicated officers that so often go unrecognized and unappreciated. Patrolman Meyers of the Mentor PD who responded to our accident on Heisley Rd. Monday May 9th is truly one of these who deserves to be properly recognized for his exceptional professionalism, courteous, and gentlemanly demeanor. The traffic police in Mentor is a joke. They are supposed to enforce the law and safety of the roadway but are the ones breaking the law and making it hazardous just to get their quotas for the month. I was driving one night through Mentor doing the speed limit and all of a sudden a cop follows me and tries to get to make a traffic violation by tailgating me and shining his spotlight on my car blinding me the entire way down Mentor ave to the point I had to pull into a private parking lot to get him off my tail and to refocus from the bright lights. The only reason I believe I didn't get stopped was because he saw I had a dashcam. This particular department is known for giving out false tickets and has a pattern of doing questionable acts. Go chase real crime instead of trying to create crime out of those obeying the law. You have plenty of thieves, drunks, drug dealers and junkies in Mentor.

Thank you for saving my son's life!! It was your department and the paramedics prompt arrival that allow me to have my son still with me! Forever grateful!

Treated very unprofessionally. Officers would benefit from learning more social skills.

Why even bother calling them. Completely useless

Rude. They hung up on us TWICE! They accuse people over stuff that didn’t happen.
