*Updated Review* They've re-opened as of March 2019. Went with a group of 4 on a Sunday. It was busy. The cats have a nice environment to sleep and play in. Aesthetically, it's an attractive store. Drinks were good. READ THE RULES. BE ALERT. Just use common sense when interacting with and walking around in the presence of the cats, and they won't get hurt accidentally.
I was a bit wary because of the reviews, but I had a pleasant experience and will be going back. My review is long. Apologies. It's run by Korean mother & daughter duo. I think there were 9 cats. *The entrance has TWO doors.* Please CLOSE whichever door you opened first, BEFORE opening the other. There is a sign asking you to do so at the door. There were about 4-5 group after us and not one group paid attention to the sign. I saw one group keeping both doors open even as the owners kept telling them to close one of the doors, and one group who didn't even close the inner door completely when leaving. It's dangerous for the cats if they go out to the streets. That request is there to prevent that. So please, do mind the doors. There is a sitting area with a cat tower & a cat wheel at the front area near the window. You can read info about cats here. The counter is in the middle area, and the rules are also here. READ THEM. They are there for a reason. Treats are available here. You may or may not be able to buy them due to cats' daily intake of treats being monitored. There are 5 seats in front of the counter three of them are floor seats with back support. There were a few reviews complaining about some of the rules being ridiculous such as no fingers or not letting them lick your hand, which I find somewhat ignorant. *Not using your fingers and foot to play: If you want to play with the cats, toys are available near the counter. If you PLAY with and I don't mean PET them using your fingers/hands, they might think your hands/fingers are toys and try bite them. They are adorable, but they are also predators with hunting instincts. This rule is for your own safety. *Not letting them lick your hand: they won't lick you unless you keep your hand for too long in front of them after giving them treats they pretty much ignore you unless you have treats. Just take your hand away after they take the treat. Problem solved. This is for the cats, since they have weaker immune system and human hands aren't the most sanitary things even after cleaning. The inner room has a few more chairs, a cat wheel, tower, litter boxes and more info about the cats. *The owners don't have the best customer skills, but from what I've seen it wasn't to the extreme the other reviews say. I'm somewhat unsure if it has to do with the owners being less comfortable with English trust me the mother is really friendly if you talk to her in Korean or because they have a cats first, customers later mindset and if they do, I don't mind that. Family comes first. I've seen reviews saying that the owners yell at the potential customers for touching the cats before purchasing drinks and such. The establishment is a cat 'cafe'. You are suppose to order drinks to use the establishment. Yes, the cats are adorable and you want to say hello to them first, but go straight to the counter first and order something to save yourself the trouble. I believe the issue with touching the cats at the door is also due to the fact that the owners want you to sanitize your hands first. They do raise their voice when telling customers not to do something, but it's more to do with making people hear what they are saying rather than being angry at them. I saw some customers who just plain ignored what they were saying even with their voices raised. There were reviews complaining about the owners not greeting customers, but from what I've seen that only happens when you do something you shouldn't like keeping the doors open, or touching the cats before purchasing/sanitizing your hands. One advice I want to give people planing on visiting is to READ THE SIGNS AND INFO before interacting with the cats. I've seen people trying to pet JeJe maine coon, even with the info on walls asking people NOT to. Trust me, he only likes the owners. He even tried to bite one of the teenagers who kept trying to pet him. He likes to take treats from you though. I didn't see them enforcing 1-hr limit while I was there, but it might be different when busy. Oops, character limit
It's a great place to visit if you want to play with cats or take pictures of them for an hour or two. There's no admission fee here, but you must purchase a drink when you arrive. The drink menu and seating area was very limited, and they do not offer food. The cats here are extremely soft and friendly and all seemed to be owned by the shop owners.
Somewhat disappointing. I wouldn’t personally call it a cafe, it’s more of a daycare with questionable decor. Lots of rules, signs everywhere. Don’t touch this, don’t hang bag here. Cats are very uninterested in being touched most likely due to all the little kids chasing them around all day. Wouldn’t visit again. Coffee is pretty good but not the best. Starbucks prices
A cute cafe and kind cats. The atmosphere is good but the owners are VERY serious about the rules. I can understand their need for clean hands to not get the cats sick but it almost feels as though you're just renting time with the cats. That being said, it's clean and the coffee with great. A step up from the other cat cafe on college. I would recommend a visit. I wish there was a puppy cafe.
Expensive bit delicious cafe. See photos. Highly recommend for cat and animal lovers and kids. Small building, only one floor. Most seating is on the floor. Lots of carpet and cushioned areas. There is a large cat climbing structure in the back room. Some toys available for cats. You can pick any toy and play with the cats. You cannot adopt the cats but i saw an ad where they say that you can drop off your cat for a coupe of hours if you like. I have only been once but I really enjoyed the experience.
LOVED IT! Cat cafés are my favorite places and this was one of the highlights of my trip to Toronto. Make sure to buy the $2 mini bag of Temptations - you will suddenly be surrounded by the cats, climbing all over you for your attention.
Very cute cafe with great drinks. No food available, for the safety of the cats. Cats are very well cared for and clearly loved very much by the owners, and for the cost of a drink you can spend an hour with them. They definitely have the run of the place! Elsa is my favourite cat, so friendly!
Cats are cute, drinks are decent, similar to Starbucks pricing. The owners are a bit fussy about how customers play with cats but overall it was an enjoyable experience on a non-crowded day. Definitely cleaner than the ToT cat cafe!
unlike some other cat cafe, you can see these cats are happy, healty and free. drinks are nice too. the only pity is you cant adopt these cats, ฅωฅ
