People at post office for the most part are nice but not sure whats going on with our carriers. The don't pick up packages when scheduled and there's not phone number that anyone answers. Where are you when we need you.
Tried calling 565-1272 on 02/26/2014 at 11:35 am to ask about passport card application appointment. They never answer; after ringing for quite some time the busy signal comes on. I guess customer service oriented goes out the window. This does not bode well for the continued existence of the USPS. Maybe the Mercedes Branch employees need a refresher course on telephone etiquette. They need to change.
I have only had 1 bad experience at this post office..the female attending me was rude and racist. After reporting her, the manager advised me she was from on loan from Progresso.then I understood that had to be true cause I had never saw her there before. In the 15 yrs I have lived in Mercedes not one of their employees have ever been rude to me.they have always treated me well. I really like the new system for package pick up they have.u get a key in ur box with A number on it.you go out to postal box area and there his this huge postal box to the far left of the room.find the one with the number that you have on that key.insert key turn, leave key and get your package..that simple.no lines no wasted time. Therefore no headaches. The guy that works there was kind enough to come from behind the counter and show me personally. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
They lost my package so I filed a claim which is under investigation. Ive been trying for 3 days straight to get in contact with my local post office and the call just rings and rings. So I tried calling USPS customer service line and the call rang forever then an automated system told me that they cannot get to my call right now to try again later. It has been really difficult just trying to get ahold of someone to inquire about my case#
Horrible horrible horrible service at this Post Office. The employees are rude and make you feel like you're bothering them when you ask for any bit of help. I've been here numerous times and the customer service is easily the worst I've ever had. They really need to replace every single employee starting with the Post Master!
Who is the postmaster at this place? The grounds-keeping is nonexistent and the place is rundown and un-kept. I went to inquire about a packet and a tall gentleman with glasses at the counter told me he did not want to argue with me. What?? I only want tracking information on the package. Now they are providing their rural mail deliverers with old rundown postal vehicles that I see stranded along the road frequently. Just my experience and observations from an old Mercedes resident.
Unfortunately, I can't give zero stars. This post office is the reason post offices are being closed. Horrible cs, retaliatory staff and completely unknowledgeable of correct mail handling procedures. Your answer is dependent upon who you talk to.
Since when does the postman stay in vehicle and honks about 10 minutes to see if someone comes out and then decides to get down 1 bang and throw packet. Mercedes texas postal service sucks that's why people are using other services. Doesn't even receive a rating

Thank you so much! *** Had an issue which could have been easily resolved by an employeed in customer service....after reading these other 1 star reviews I'm afraid this seems to be a reoccurring thing. I hope higher management will step in to correct
Sending military package to daughter,the young man was rude and I also sent a singing card that he pinched and bent all up,,when she gets it,,,it might not work. Rude,,very rude and I cried as I left,,,I love my daughter.
