Dr. Young and Dr. Eastway did a great job helping us and our kids as we needed physicals, vaccines, and letters for traveling overseas. Both were relaxed, have great experience, and helped us meet our desires for healthcare.
All the medical staff are nice but all the administrative customer service is terrible. We frequently have to wait 45 minutes on the phone to schedule an appointment. My 1st time visiting I got turned around and was 12 minutes late since I was 10 minutes outside the appointment window I had to reschedule. They "forgot" to schedule any follow up appointments for my 2 kids so both of them missed rounds of vaccines for several months until we caught the issue and found the time to wait 45 minutes on the phone to schedule an appointment. When we finally went to that appointment my 9 month old fell over right before getting in the car and busted his lip and we were once again 10 minutes late and had to reschedule. If you are OK being treated like a robot who has money, this is the place for you. If you value being treated like a human being, find somewhere else for sure.
My boyfriend has been sick for 3 weeks throwing up everything, including blood. His Dr at Mercy Health sent him to this lab to get tests done, when called they said they had orders sent for him and that he can walk in. We walked in and was denied entry due to him being sick?? He has had 2 negative covid tests within the 3 weeks. Lab for sickness and doesn’t let sick worried people come in. Choose a different location..
Unless you have unlimited spare time to fight with them about billing, find somewhere else. Neither Mercy Health or their billing partner Trinity will even attempt to bill my insurance. I have submitted my insurance card to their worthless portal 4 times including photos of the front and back of the card each time, plus I brought the card in directly to Mercy TWICE. When I call, I'm told to *just* bring the card back in, and when I send a message through their portal, their lazy representatives try to blame me for providing incomplete information. At this point, I've provided the card to them SIX TIMES. It doesn't get much more complete than submitting the card a half dozen times! They are simply REFUSING to bill the insurance company! I even wasted more of my time checking with my insurance provider to verify that they hadn't made a mistake. No, my insurance is valid, and Mercy/Trinity just haven't submitted anything.
The facility is really clean and the people are lovely! Our doctor, Dr. Scheeringa is top notch. He and the nurses there are always incredibly kind and knowledgeable. This branch in conveniently located by the mall and meijer so we tend to get some shopping done if one of us has an appointment. Overall we're really lucking to have such good people taking care of us, and others <3
Called about a bad infection and hoping to get some antibiotics, I was pretty much told to kick rocks by a nurse on the phone. Just didn't care. Highly disappointing for a health professional who should be trying help those of us in pain; I will be switching doctors / facilities because of this experience. Disappointed. I needed help, she couldn't care less.
I used to love this office however I would not recommend bringing your children there if you have any opinion of your own on vax or care about what happened to your child. They TRY to use ridiculous fear mongering tactics & undermine you. btw they won't see you if you refuse to vax their way or at all.
Horrid place. They withheld my antidepressant medication for 2 days leaving me with severe withdrawals and panic attacks. Then when they finally did submit my refills, they put it in to be filled the following day knowing full well my condition and situation. Nurse Ashley Chapman and doctor Rada Brooks showed clear medical neglect and unethical practices during this entire situation. All they care about is getting you in the office so they can get paid. Steer clear of this location. Also, at the beginning of 2018 I went in for chronic nosebleeds. Sheeringa told me to moisturize and that he would refer me to an ENT, but that appt would be two weeks out. 2 days later I ended up in the ER because the bleeding wouldn't stop. Had to have a balloon inserted for three days to allow the cut to heal. Another misdiagnosis from MH.
If you are looking for ethical health care, I would highly suggest to stay away from this center. This is the second time in a year and a half where the doctors have coded things wrong in my physical which should be free and I get slapped with a copay which I shouldn't have. I find it very unethical, as well as trying to get my bill figured out with manager GINA and to find out the doctor Dr. Klein lying regarding what we talked about to avoid me getting out of paying the bill. I will be changing my doctors office as I find this extremely not okay. I have had other run ins with this office of bad testing. I had the worst UTI of my life last summer - so bad to where I was bleeding from it and they told me nothing was wrong with me and to go home and drink water. Very poor care has been given to me and I am more than ready to find a new physician and doctors office who values their clients and their health.
Nice people, but I was sent out without much to go on except the doc told me to gargle salt water. I have now been up since 2 am with horrible ear infection and no help today. I asked for an antibiotic for the first time in 30 years because I could feel it creeping into my ear, but the doc said no. I don't think the salt water is doing much for my throat or ear. Getting ready for a long and painful weekend.
