Great food and atmosphere. Some things could be adjusted. We waited quite some time at the door waiting to be seated. Once we were we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in the sunroom we didn't realize there was a second room. It was lovely. The bathrooms are nice although they're in a cold part of the building and not labeled so you're not sure you're in the right place. That being said it was fun to watch people go in there confused. The brussel sprouts are like no other. Quite different but very good. I had the mushroom burger with fries that I thought were fresh cut, they are not and a side salad with their feta vinaigrette. The salad came with house vinaigrette and no fries. So that had to be fixed. My husband ordered the salmon dish with balsamic on the salad and it also came out with house dressing. The burger was a bit greasy but tasty. The toppings were awesome but by the end the bun was covered in grease. Fries were frozen type but good when dipped In the feta dressing. All in all we probably won't be back because we weren't all that impressed but if we do come back it will be for small plates and wine because their wine list is good.
Delightful! Very much enjoyed the ambiance. Plus, the food and drinks were spot on. Delicious - right up there with some of the best meals from our travels. Would definitely go back.
Sat outside surrounded by trees and nature. Great service and delicious upscale food. A must!! Every plate below was amazing!
What a lovely and enjoyable experience! When you want your brunch to be something special, this is the place to go! The staff and food were equally pleasing!
Accommodated us & our dog at last minute...excellent food...delightful server...reasonable prices...very good & reasonable wine list. Would definitely return.
This was our first time dining here and we were very impressed!! Our waiter Josiah was exceptional and very knowledgeable about the food he was serving. He was very attentive and just a very pleasant person to spend an hour and a half with. I started with the beef tenderloin carpaccio as an appetizer and it was fantastic. It was so tender it just literally melted in my mouth. It had a little bit of salad with it along with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese. And the drizzle of balsamic vinegar just added to all the flavor explosions going on in my mouth. My wife had the "Almost" Caesar salad which was exceptional as well. We both couldn't resist the "M" Paella for our entrees. It was out of this world!! Be sure to ask for some of their wonderful rustic bread to soak up the delicious broth that it has served in. Then to round out a wonderful evening I had the caramel apple cake with house made bourbon gelato and my wife had the salted chocolate tart. This place just hit it out of the park for us. If we ever come back way again we will definitely for sure stop by again
For quality food, a superb selection of international wines and value for money, we think Meritage is the best restaurant in Highlands . . . and so do a lot of other locals. It's run by an experienced pro, Andrea Schmitt, who knows how to schedule reservations, hire great staff and oversee the preparation and presentation of her talented chef's marvelous and ever-changing menu. Covered outdoor dining is available which is dog friendly, there is a small dining room with about 8 tables and a large bar area near the entry. The decor is unstated and elegant and the service staff is knowlegeable, friendly and professional. Reservations highly recommended.
They were only open for takeout May 2020. It's one of our favorites when we come up to dine in. The food was amazing, we had the ribs, chicken avocado, spinach salad and Brussels sprout appetizer. They also had some wine to bring home that was excellent. Best meal of all our Highlands take-outs during crazy this time. Such nice people!
The trout was excellent but when I ordered an old fashioned it came out looking like a dirty orange juice. When I tried to explain to the bartender instead of being polite about it they were quite rude and I figured I would order a simple beam and Ginger. To my surprise it was $14 a glass to make up for the old fashioned that was made very wrong. Definitely would recommend other restaurants in this area. This bistro is not good for customer service.
Had an incredible brunch with all inclusive mimosas and dessert. Had the lemon chicken soup which was great! Followed that up with the sea scallops and rounded everything out with an unbelievable peach cobbler for dessert. Would definitely recommend for brunch, can’t wait to try another meal there!
