This is a great movie theater! They often have smaller independent films in addition to the big box office titles. The popcorn is fantastic and I was concerned with the small narrow theaters at first but I actually think I prefer this layout over conventional American larger plaza movie theaters. The tickets were also cheaper than what I am used to and were only $10 for us as students. A great spot!
They have a more interesting selection of movies to choose from than the cinemas where we live, but the lobby is so small, and the walls of the screening rooms are so non-soundproof, that if you're with someone, the two of you have to step out onto the street in order to have a normal conversation. Not a very hospitable place, unless you're by yourself. There's also no parking area, so you have to contend with parking garages, parking lots, and street parking in Burlington, which are getting ever more congested, restricted, and metered.
This movie theatre is a highlight of downtown Burlington. My friend and I ordered two tickets online to see Anything Everywhere All the Time. Beside how great the actual movie was, the entire theatre experience puts this establishment in high regards. Walking into the theatre, we were greeted by their “film reviews” bulletin board along with the friendliest welcome from the staff. After exchanging a digital QR code for two tickets at the counter, I ordered a small popcorn and box of Swedish fish to snack on during the movie. Everything from wide aisles, cushy seats, and feature films contributed to the 5-star experiences I’ve had at this theatre.
I moved here and thought, cool, movie theater within walking distance, maybe I'll catch a flick once a month. I saw 4 shows here. The popcorn consistently tastes and smells like cardboard. Like astonishingly so. Like I don't think I could make something taste like this if I tried. They don't serve beer ??? And the last time I went the child behind the counter said I couldn't take my backpack into the theater, which hadn't been an issue previously. A that's my life in there, my cash and cards, and I'm supposed to trust a teenager to leave it on the floor by the front door? Not to mention, what if there's an emergency and we have to evacuate? B I'm asthmatic, and my rescue inhaler is in there. C I brought a thermos of ice water with me to wash down this awful popcorn. No, I'm not paying carny rates for something that comes from a tap. Might as well pat me down for a flask while you're at it. I debated asking for a refund, but I won't be back either way.
Great local Burlington movie theatre. Good price tickets and clean, nice screens. Wonderful for the whole family.
Nice little theater. Plenty of movie snack options, comfortable seats, and friendly staff.
Not too impressed. It'd be nice if the whole film fit completely on the screen and if the screen wasn't damaged. Also kind of a bummer to hear fire engines and police sirens during the film and yes, it's not a the theater's fault but there was a sick person in there coughing and sniffling and snorting and racing their leg and talking. Also not too thrilled to have to pay 200-400% mark-ups at the concession stand.
Mixed emotions, only game in town for alt cinema, screens are small, theaters are barely heated so quite chilly even in September. The good? It's an institution, cheap matinee, wonderful staff, and good location.
Went to see a movie while we were in South Burlington here. I have to say, it's a very cool little place, but I emphasize little. The actual theaters are tiny and if you have a rude crowd that likes to talk during the show, it sort of makes it tough to watch the actual movie. It's about average on movie prices and they have a decent snack selection. I'd stay away from the vegan butter for the popcorn, though. Whatever they are using caused some GI issues later that night for us. If any person from the theater reads this, you might want to change that up. Overall, not a bad place.
Went and saw minions the gru it was great. The only thing is little boxes of candy $5.50. wow I paid $16 for 3 dollar store candy. Literally you can buy it for a $1. Im not sure if all movie theaters are like that. Otherwise it was good.
