Merriman Soccer Fields, Roanoke

Merriman Soccer Complex has room for three full-sized soccer fields, each of which can be divided into two junior sized or smaller playing fields. The Complex is sign-posted and accessed from Merriman Rd. The area contains a picnic shelter which can be reserved for special events by telephoning the Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office. There are no bleachers or restroom facilities for this area. Parking may be a can of worms when all three areas are used for play. Handicap accessible parking is available near the picnic shelter. The Complex’s proximity to Back Creek makes fields liable to flooding during heavy rains. County workers have been busy renovating and sodding the fields for 2023 play.

Good fields with lights. Parking is challenging if all fields are playing.

Soccer complex in a low lying area. It was holding water on the fields. The grass was long and the line markers were faded. Not a tournament grade field.
