The Messenger Public Library serves a population of approximately 17,892 residents, and offers its users access to more than 100,000 books, magazine titles, DVDs, CDs and online databases. The library checked out over 200,000 items, and over 145,000 people visited the library in 2012. Our website was visited over 73,000 times. Programs and classes are offered for all ages, including winter and summer reading programs, which topped 1,500 participants in 2011. The library participates in the Fox Valley Reads Community, Read and Picturing America. In 2011, the library expanded and revitalized their Teen Area, added circulating xBox and Wii games, plus started offering downloadable audio and ebooks. In 2011 the library started circulating eReaders and added Blu Ray selections to our collection.
