Aurora metra station is a great place. Big parking lot and clean and spacious station with waiting room, ramp facilities for people with disabilities. Station has huge parking lot and has place for bike, motorcycle and car parking. There are charging stations for electric cars and pace bus stops near station for people who needs to use buses for commute.
Appreciate the architecture of the place, but was surprised that the ticket office was closed ? during the day when I was there. Someone should take the time to clean up garbage from people who don't respect public places. The barber shop was active & was the only lively thing about the station.
I was happy to be out of the rain while waiting for a car. It was nice that plaques were posted to share history of the station and the rail line. The shirtless vagrants are less nice. I've never been here at a time when there wasn't someone using the space inappropriately.
Gets the job done. Beware the platform signs!! I am only giving this 3 stars cuz the BNSF line has more frequent service than other lines do. Some of the inbound trains to downtown DO NOT leave from the platform that says "To Chicago" but rather from the "From Chicago" platform. This is especially true if reverse commuting and taking the train to the suburbs in the morning and back to the city in the evening. METRA really needs to get its act together and add clear signage for ALL trains and make it easier to cross between platforms. It can take several minutes to walk from the main station to the inbound platform that is used most frequently. But some of the afternoon inbound trains to Union Station actually leave from the outbound arrivals platform even though there are no signs anywhere to indicate this. Travelers beware!
Direct easy ticket purchase either thru the app or at the counter. They have a nice little coffee shop that's open everyday other than Sunday. The trains are normally on time weather permitting and the conductors are polite and helpful.
Beautiful and vintage
Nice station however, The Man Behind the Counter was rude. There's no need for that
First time here and I actually like the clean station. Shops inside including a barber. Love the old school train station look as well.
when I put four stars there's usually a good reason I mean the bathrooms are very clean and they had free books which was a bonus
plenty of parking. but be aware of tight corners when coming in from north entrance. didn't travel here for train, rather for Tony's Hairstop within the Depot. masks required bon entry. building bis clean and we'll maintained as usual. with covid, it's hit the businesses inside pretty hard. so don't expect bmany amenities at this point in time. still.. it's a nice station.
