The metro north is the only train that stops here but there are buses that tranist to and from this station. It's a decent place to transit from in Mount Vernon. The station is fairly clean in comparison to other stations. It's design works well for its purpose and the overpass Is a nice touch and necessary part of it. Elevators are avaible and tons of parking.
Metro North’s Mount Vernon East station is one I stop by occasionally in order to get to Pelhams park and ride. It’s always well lit and there’s usually police officers around as well as plenty of taxi cabs. This is a station you could visit as a tourist and spend the day in Mount Vernon shopping, eating, and taking pics of the city’s architecture.
Is a great station but I was wrongfully ticketed
The waiting areaa need to be cleaned. Many homeless people sleep & eat in there. If you take the early trains like around 5am they are still in there & you can wait inside for your train. This is unfair to people who pay almost $240 a month to take the train into the city. Also, a clerk needs to be on site more often. There's hardly anyone here most days especially after the early morning
There is not enough police presence at night and the homeless presence gives the city a bad image, because they literally turn station into a resting place. Reccommend check your train time and plan to be there to hop on train. I live here and disgusted but the truth is the truth.
Yesterday, I mistakenly paid for the wrong parking space. I parked in space #403, but paid for #402, which was occupied by the company's snow loader. I realized my error when I returned to my car hours later and noticed the ticket left on my car. I contacted the office immediately and spoke with "Tasha" who was rude and dismissive. She told me the ticket was my responsibility, despite the obvious error. I asked to speak with her supervisor. She told me her supervisor's name was Cathy and that I should call her in the morning after 8:30am. I spoke with "Cathy" who also informed me that it didn't matter if I made a mistake, I still parked in a space that was not paid for and the violation was valid. I asked to speak with someone in upper management and was directed to an email address. I submitted an email of the incident including a photograph of the snow loader parked in space #402. I received an email from "Megan Rice" stating that I am responsible for paying for the violation. Lax Parking was not willing to dismiss the violation or reduce it by the fee I paid for the space occupied by their snow loader. This company is extremely inflexible and display very poor customer service.
For the most part the trains are on time. However, the station's waiting room on track 3 side needs immediate attention. It's extremely dirty and it smells worst than a Time Square MTA train station and it's worst in the summer.
If the lady working at the ticket counter cannot clarify ticket policies of the MTA because she doesn't know them when I have an issue of having a ticket from a different station but in the same city, she shouldn't be working there. She works for the MTA, she should know this to help people with certain ticket issues/concerns
The waiting room on track 3 is disgusting. It is dirty, smelly and there are homeless people sleeping on the floor. They pee in the elevators! Metro North needs to clean it up.
It's my home for 31 years!!! It has it's goods and bad times, like any other city!!!! I MV.
