Metro Parks’ (http://www.nashville.gov/parks/) Centennial Art Center (http://www.nashville.gov/cac) is an Historic Building located in the 25th Ave. N. & Park Plaza corner of Nashville, TN's beautiful Centennial Park.
Centennial Art Center offers popular, affordable, painting and pottery studio art classes that are taught by well-respected art teachers in this region. Classes include drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture and more. Many area artists indeed “got started” through Metro Parks’ Centennial Art Center classes and both past and current students consistently win awards in juried exhibitions.
Each year, Centennial Art Center’s Gallery hosts six group exhibitions featuring works by numerous professional and emerging local and regional artists. All exhibitions open with festive artists’ receptions that are co-sponsored by Cabot Creamery (http://www.cabotcheese.coop/) and are free and open to the public.
The mission of Metro Parks and Recreations' Visual Arts Program is to provide and expand quality art and cultural experiences within Metro Parks' facilities via classes, workshops, art exhibitions and gallery/museum field trips for the citizens and visitors of Metro Nashville, Davidson County.
