Wilshire/Vermont metro station feels like a brutalist dungeon. It’s dark and cold and many times I wonder if the people on the lower platform are there to take the metro or did I just reach the gates of Dante’s Inferno. We are having a homeless and security crisis in Los Angeles and very often there is no security or Metro worker in sight. And when they are there, it seems as if they are purposely ignoring potential risk and hazards just to do less. I saw three Lime scooters obstructing the lower escalators causing potential risk and it was difficult to get through these employees who seemed to be having a training. They could have cared less about the safety and care of passengers who depend on the Metro to get around.
I am current tenant and have lived here for over 2 years. The building is maintained pretty well including public area and private unit. When I need fixing service, they will have the technician come and solve the problem in timely manner. The staffs in leasing office are nice and friendly too, they will have social events every month. I am pleased and feel cozy to live here.
So many homeless people at the station - smoking, urinating, laying down, cursing, screaming, etc. and overweight security just passing by , doing nothing....shame !
