The Brain Genomics Lab uses neuroimaging, genetics, and dietary information to better understand the brain's structure, function, and development.
Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder with an approximately 1% prevalence rate, exhibiting behavioral and cognitive symptoms as well as underlying structural and functional neural correlates. Dr. Joshua Roffman’s lab works to unravel the underlying mechanisms involved in this apparently highly genetic disorder with a number of cutting edge neuroimaging and genetic analysis techniques. As with all such work, we strive to further knowledge and understanding of the predisposition for, development of, and treatment of this destructive and disabling disorder.
