Mary Helen has a passion for health and fitness with over 25 years experience in the industry as a trainer, teacher, and nutrition counselor. She is also a former marathon and triathlon competitor. Mary Helen has extensive experience in bodybuilding with titles including Ms. Dothan and placing first in both the Alabama and Florida Open Lightweight Division Competitions.
A hamstring injury led Mary Helen to yoga. She is grateful for that injury that began her yoga journey that has changed her life and perspective transforming body builder fitness athlete into passionate yogini. Mary Helen is certified in hatha yoga with emphasis on Iyengar Method. The Iyengar tradition of Yoga focuses on precision of alignment paying attention to individual strengths, limitation, and progress. Props are sometimes used in order to experience the full benefits of Yoga postures.
Mary Helen participated in an in-depth training at Balance Studio in Seagrove, Florida and is certified as E-RYT 200 instructor in Vinyasa flow. Vinyasa flow is an active and health enriching style of yoga that links movement with the breath.
In addition to yoga and fitness training, Mary Helen is a certified health coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She offers health coaching with a holistic approach based on bio individuality encouraging clients to reach their personal goals.
Mary Helen believes that being a teacher is finding your way to knowledge by sharing with other people. As a teacher,trainer and health coach, Mary Helen challenges her clients to take action with courage, discipline and gratitude.
