Everyone at Mia made the dress shopping experience such a breeze! Even when I was planning my elopement last minute. The seamstress did a wonderful job getting my dress ready in time as well, removing all the lace and hemming the dress, then adding it back on seamlessly. The bustle she did looked beautiful as well!
Mia boutique has a great selection of wedding dresses and their staff were very lovely and helpful. If you need alterations done I would recommend going elsewhere though. Similar to another review on here their seamstress seemed confident about the alterations that needed to be done but then did the opposite of what I had asked and what was done looked rushed. I had to come back for an additional appointment and still not all of my concerns were addressed or I was told there was nothing to be done and that it was “just for one day anyways”. Not wanting to deal with this any further and running out of time since I didn’t get my dress back until less than a month before my wedding I said thanks very much and took my dress to a family friend who redid a lot of their seamstress’ work and took care of my remaining concerns. I regret not reading these reviews before hand as I would have saved over $750 dollars and a lot of stress around these alterations.
I find that less is better from my dress shopping experience. Although Mia Boutique is a smaller sized compared to other bridal boutiques, each dress is carefully picked by the owner. I had the best shopping experience here as I wasn't overwhelmed with choices, while I liked every dress I tried on. I also like how they actually have a sample for you to try on for every picture posted on their website. I find that most shop would post many styles on their website but they are usually not available when you visit the shop. There were many compliments for the two dresses I bought from Mia Boutique. Thank you to Ella and Vivian again for helping me to pick my dresses!
I bought my wedding dress from Mia Boutique in May and have been so pleased with the quality of service! I came in looking for a dress that I needed in just a few months and the ladies at Mia Boutique were so accommodating, kind and respectful. They helped me to find the perfect dress in my budget and they even managed to make the alterations work with my wedding timeline. Overall it was a fantastic experience and would 10/10 recommend them to all future brides.
This boutique is amazing! I had such a great experience! I had something in mind for my wedding dress but couldn't put my finger on exactly what I wanted and was started to get a bit worried that I wouldn't find it, but I came here and found SO many dresses that I could picture myself walking down the isle in! They listened to my "dream in my head" and made me feel so special - excellent service and attention to detail on their part! Also, the Rosa Clara collection is beautiful - elegant and exquisite details - dresses I had never seen in any other boutique! I said YES to the dress here and I can't WAIT to pick it up!
This is the perfect place to look for your dress. Vivian was so helpful. This was our first stop in the prom dress shopping experience. We then went to a few other stores. I can say honestly that the service and expertise at Mia Boutique far surpasses any other store. The way they took their time to make the dress fit properly with clamps immediately made all the difference. They allowed my daughter to try on as many dresses as she wanted opposed to only 5 per visit at the competition. The atmosphere was more personable and not 10 other girls trying on dresses sharing a mirror. This IS THE BEST place to get your special occasion dress. The prices are fair and we recommend trying out MIA BOUTIQUE most definitely.
I had such a wonderful experience at this beautiful boutique. Vivian and Ella are so sweet and accommodating. Not for one moment did I feel rushed or pressured. They gave great feedback and advice but also a lot of space to deliberate and decide. I was very torn between 2 dresses and had an emotional moment with the dress that fulfilled that innocent little girl bridal vision, but ultimately it was not the dress I knew I wanted to spend my wedding day IN. So I took a moment and left for a half hour to clear my head. They were very understanding and encouraging to take my time. I came back in 30 minutes and bought THE dress and got genuine hugs from Ella. Go to this place and enjoy the experience. You will not regret it!!
I had been searching for a place to get my wedding dress altered, as I had bought this dress online and this was one of the only places that replied to me. Their seamstress only works on Sundays as they bring her in to do alterations. I went in and the seamstress Djamila seemed to know what could be done. She said I paid to much for this dress and she would do what she could. I wasn't expecting an amazing job but at least a professional one. The first fitting went well and we discussed removing a layer of crinoline, taking in the waist, adding boning, lifting the shoulders, and fixing the sleeves by removing a layer of netting and making the half sleeves. My biggest mistake was paying full price up front. $400 I didn't know that you shouldn't do that. The second fitting I tried it on and the sleeves were 3 1/4 length? instead of half like we discussed, and so there was a really ugly seam sewn into the sleeve just below my elbow with the appliques hap-hazardly sewn on to hide the seam. I also noticed the shoulders were not lifted up yet and she didn't even bother touching that even though I had already paid for it. So I asked her to fix it to half sleeves. Third fitting was a disaster, I tried on the dress before she arrived and she had cut the sleeves too short and the seam looked awful, and I noticed seams on the inside coming apart. I was sad. I told the owner Ella I was upset and she said all I could do was talk to the seamstress again. At which point, after walking in late to the appointment, she started YELLING at me to put my dress back on, making scene in the store. I was horrified and froze, I didn't even get a word out before my mother had had enough of this disaster and started to defend me. I was starting to feel so distraught as this was already 2 weeks before my wedding. I only got $80 back from what I paid, which was not worth the energy and and verbal abuse I received. Ella offered $100, but the seamstress made a scene saying "No, I'm not working for free! Is this customer service? Especially for a wedding..? I took my dress to a different tailor to salvage the butchery that was done to my dress, and he asked me if I had done this myself... Thank god the other tailor fixed everything AND.. was actually showing concern about my worries.
Small shop with a big heart! We went thru various wedding shops, and my fiancé finally found her dream dress in this little gem located at the heart of Steveston village. Vivian is patient, customer oriented, and all around wonderful. Experiencing such amazing customer service while making a once in a life time purchase is truly phenomenal. We both thank Vivian and Mia Boutique for making this shopping experience unforgettable!
Very nice dress selection! Mia boutique was the first place I went to try out bridal dresses for my wedding shoot and I was lucky to find my dress without going to a second place with the short amount of time I have! Vivian was very helpful and nice with a great eye to help me find the dress that suits me. The seamstress also helped me alter my dress so I can have it ready in time! Definitely recommend this place!
